This is the perfect place to stop and have a picnic lunch, or read, or just enjoy the quiet beauty of the area. The park is small, but lovingly maintained, just 2 minutes off the highway going into Ridgway. I highly recommend it.

An unforgettable place with a truly outstanding piece of art. The eagle is flying. The site is very impressive with rocks placed all around. It is a very relaxing and respectful place to visit.

They were doing road construction in Ridgway so I kept driving rather than stopping for lunch. Saw a sign for this park and decided to eat there if they had picnic tables as it was a sunny day. They have a very nice park here with well separated tables. No restroom but you can sit right next to the river.... More

I enjoyed the poetry, how it was displayed, and the sculptures. Watching the river run was relaxing. I am very grateful to the Weaver family for creating this living memorial.

So beautiful. Thank you Dennis for saving a little bit of wilderness for others to enjoy. We loved the scenery and the fact that someone else found this area as gorgeous as we did.

Loved all the prayer rocks and the eagle sculpture. There wasn't a lot to see, but I enjoyed it. Especially walking by the Uncompaghre River.

Will you come to Ridgway just to see this park? Probably not, unless you are a really BIG Dennis Weaver (McCloud) fan. But he and his family set this sweet parcel of land next to the Uncompagre river aside so everyone could enjoy it, and access the river. There are stacked rocks along the path that leads to a marvelous... More

Nice short hiking location. Husband and I had a picnic lunch down by the river quite and sort of remote.

Do make a stop here. It's a GREAT place to walk around and spend time by the river. The monument is thought provoking and a great photo spot.
