This is a very beautiful spot and a nice way to cool off on a hot afternoon, BUT they should post a sign when they divert half the water to rifle Gap before you pay expecting to go swimming. Very disappointing.

It is just a short drive to this state park from Rifle. Driving through the Gap is quite impressive, interesting rock slides and chutes. The lake level is a bit low, but there were many people out enjoying the water. Nice semi-secluded spot to visit.

It's nothing pompous, but this is my all time favorite place to spend a sunny day on my paddleboard. It's a no-wake lake, which makes it perfect for kayakers and paddlers. The water is beautiful and clear. The swimming area is quite muddied because of...More

Came with family and husband - had dogs who enjoyed running around. Beautiful view of jet skiers and boaters. Go on a sunny day!

I always enjoy chilling by the water under the cottonwood trees. Great place to visit in the summer, or any other season for that matter.

They were low ing the lake levels to make dam repairs the friday we visited, but it was still very pretty. There were shaded picnic tables and public restrooms and a swim beach for the kids. Good lake to kayak fish.

Lake takes for every to get to and I'd more like a puddle then a lake. Don't waste your time driving to the middle of nowhere.

Climbing at Rifle Canyon in June/July is bloomin' hot. Harvey Gap Lake was on the way back to our accommodation and provided the best cool spot for a refreshing dip. With plenty of space to pull in and very few, if any other people there...More
