My husband and I stopped in for an interesting visit. It's free. We were greeted by a very friendly volunteer who spent quite a while showing us around. She was very knowledgeable and made the visit a lot better than if we had just read the exhibits alone. It's amazing how much they were able to unearth in such a... More

During our last day at Snowmass Mall, we ventured into the Discovery Center. It's a free stop and worth the time for those interested in Ice Age history and information about local fossil discoveries.

We didn't even know this place was here, and discovered it while wandering around, checking out Snowmass Village. I then remembered hearing about the discovery at Snowmass. Here it is, beautifully exhibited! The staff is very knowledgeable (actual scientists working here), and the film is excellent (although long). There are fun things for the kiddos to do. Definitely worth a... More

We enjoyed our visit to the Ice Age museum. They have an informative video playing most of the time, a scavenger hunt for kids, a little reading nook for kids, and the friendly staff told me all about the big discovery in detail. Thanks Snowmass!

We were two adults traveling without children, so I only stayed a short time. I overheard the staff doing a pleasant job of teaching some of the children Well worth the stop.

Nice staff docent but they were very busy with a group of children when we arrived. In spite of this, we looked at all the bone and skull replicas. Some pictures and explanations. There were also some story books to read which we did.

We could see a small lake from the deck of our rental house when we were vacationing in Snowmass Village for the July 4th holiday week. In doing some research we found about about the history of the lake and the prehistoric finds!! The we found the little museum in Snowmass and loved all of the information held there. It... More
