Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Plytras Beach is another fine example of one of Greece's " blue flag beaches".
The water is crystal clear, blue and calm which makes it safe for all and a sandy beach tops it off.

Plitra is one of those little best kept secret. It has a sandy beach, clear water and is great for bathing whether you are a good swimmer or not. The municipality has done a great job in paving the road with tiles, providing parking as well as a dining outlet, washroom and shower facilities.
Moreover you can rent sun loungers and parasol for a mere 1.5 euros a day as long as you order some food or drink.
There are a few good traditional Greek restaurants in town such as Araxovoli as well as inexpensive accommodation including Yanni Markopoulos from Montreal, Canada that rents rooms with a kitchen at a very reasonable price.
This is the site of the ancient sunken city of Asopos and is a great place to spend three or four days of relaxation.

One of the best beaches in South Peloponese! Sandy beach with fantastic crystal clear water ! If you are lucky enough you may see sea turtle swimming in that area !

Clean water, sandy beach easy to access, ideal for families with kids. However, for those that want something more interesting I recommend TIGANIA beach which is close to ELIA village a bit more to the north of PLITRA.

We drove to visit Plytra beach for a few hours - parking was easy (loads of it). It has lovely soft white sand, clear azure sea and deserves it’s blue flag - the sea stays shallow for quite some way out so it would be very safe for children. If you want a sun bed (complete with umbrella) they cost 2 euros each. If this beach were on a Greek island it would be packed, and it probably is busier on weekends, but visit midweek like we did and it is pretty quiet too - most on the beach were Greeks which is always a good sign. There is a cafe right next to the beach which does great food (and was being spruced up with what looked like a bit of an extension while we there). All in all well worth the drive.

Still unspoiled by mass tourism this location offers unlimited opportunities for activities in nature all year round. The beach is just excellent. Sandy with crystal clear water ath the right temperature during summer months. An ancient submerged city close by , is accessible for visiting (snorkelling over the ruins is quite an experience)

Good for kids, friendly and exteremely clean. This part of part of Greece is beautiful and, thank God, still uncrowded.

This beach was recommended by hotel staff. It was easy to find, parking was available and it was a lovely, warm and clean beach.
It doesn't get deep for some time and the kids who were playing with snorkels even saw some fish.
The chairs cost 1.5 Euro each - I'm not used to paying for chairs but the price of drinks was reasonable.

Although for foreign tourists, this beach and village are basically not known, for the local people of the near by towns and villages is a very popular spot for a half day excursion and swimming during Summer Time's weekends. The sea and the beach are very good and the latter to an extent organized, while the little village Plitra has also shops and restaurants. (Note: Pets are not allowed on the beach). Apart from swimming and relaxing you might have an interesting hiking on the mountains and hills of the near by peninsula and explore also the scenery. You might spot remnants from ancient, medieval and modern times while you are exploring. It is a suggested place, if you are going for vacation in the area or you simply pass from there or near there in order to visit Neapolis, Kythera, Elafonissos, Monemvasia etc.

We visited the beach for an afternoon swim. The water was clean and so warm, that we thought we were in thermal spa. We stayed in the water for hours, until long after sunset. We left feeling relaxed, purified and healed from any stressful thought.
