We loved the Chief Theater as a venue for the Music Fest. However, drinks were way overpriced. You were lucky to get two drinks for $20. The theater is very small; it seats about 150, so nearly all seats have a good view. The middle...More

Website said the adult lip sync/air guitar was from 8pm to 10pm. Arrived just before 8, bought 2 tickets, 2 beers, took our seats, watched the last minute or so of an act. The act finished, lights came on, and" that's it, folks, hope you...More

I cannot speak for other people, their experience with live theatre, or the shows they saw. I can only tell you about my experience. Mine was not a good experience, the "double header" show I saw was not very good at all. I did like...More

The melodrama at the Chief Theater was great. We are already planning to attend next year when we visit Steamboat again. It is great entertainment and very well done.

I had hoped to find an historic theater that had been restored to its former glory, instead, I found a theater that has been gutted and refurbished to host live stage performances with seating for perhaps 100. We attended one free performance put on by...More

Attended a folk music concert on 1/29/17. Great acoustics from every seat and a good view as they have removed the center pole! The theater only seats about 135 people so you can easily see everything happening on stage. Comfy seats with cup holders for...More

I've been to the Chief several times for a variety of different occasions. (Jazz, Shows, Benefits/Fundraisers) I love the small intimate feel of the place. There's not a bad seat in the house since they renovated. The staff and management of the theater are excellent....More

Checked out the "Yonder Mountain" melodrama on Thursday night. While the cast members were engaging, costuming and sets were reasonable, the script needed a lot of work. Melodrama is, by nature, foolishness . . . so it requires a good bit of work to make...More

We got to see Uncle Lucius and the Black Lillies here. I loved the venue. It is intimate and the accoustics are very good. The bar was well stocked and reasonably priced.
