This is one of the most marvellous natural thing that I have seen. Its very big and very watery.
Worth a visit while you are on your way to lake toba.
Amazing place with stunning view. It is quite tiring to climb up and down but the beautiful scene worth all of the hard works.

Sipiso Piso Waterfalls is an hours drive from Berastagi. The name translate to "like a knife". The falls has an impressive height of 120 meters. Either you can take pictures from the top or walk down to the falls to get the feel of the sheer force of the water.

Sipiso-piso waterfall is a waterfall located in Hutabaringin, Tongging Village, Merak Subdistrict, Karo Rule, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. The distance from Medan to sipiso-piso waterfall is about 75 KM. Beautiful natural scenery, air and waterfall was cool.
There are souvenir kiosks and food stalls. For those of you who want to bring souvenirs from sipiso-piso can stop by the stalls and for those of you who are hungry because of the length of travel can also eat at the stall.
To come to the bottom of the waterfall should descend the number of stairs that are about 1000. So if you want to down the stairs should have a stamina fit and a strong spirit. The waterfall is at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level and falls off a 120-meter-high cliff. Along the way down the stairs there are some stalls, if you are tired you can stop for a moment in the shop. Fatigue down the stairs will be replaced after you reach the bottom of the waterfall Because of the wonder of the wonders of nature in this place.
The more the afternoon the higher the water flow and also torrential, the cold also increases. Battle waterfall we can feel when we are still at the end of the ladder so that our clothes get wet.
Tiring down stairs is nothing compared to when we raise it back because we have to climb it. So do not be surprised if my friends yesterday it included me hehehe .. Feel the head of a dizzy and very tired body. But overall I am very happy to have gained an amazing experience with my friends in this place.

This is must stop place while on tour in Medan .. When you get a photo of this place, it's looks like it were in a postcard ... I was mesmerized when I had a glimpse of the waterfall .. Took me a few minutes to gauge back into reality before I started clicking away with my little camera ... Such a wonder beyonds words can describe in one of God's heavenly masterpieces .. I am so blessed to be travelling and being able to witness this personally ...

It's the highest waterfall in Indonesia, falling 120metres high... It is made from an underground river in the Karo plateau that runs through a cave on the side of the crater of Lake Toba ...
... The water flows to the Lake passes a small village named Tongging and reaches part of the huge Lake Toba known as Tao Silalahi. The village is famous for it's water sport activites ..
Sipiso piso actually means a sharp knife ... We were told that
it actually shows in the sharp and slender look of the waterfall and the way it falls into the Lake ...

You will never regret going to this place ..

Sipiso-piso is one of the highest waterfalls in Indonesia. Precisely in Tongging Kab.Karo North Sumatra.
Go to the waterfall can be traveled by driving a private vehicle and takes about 1 hour from Berastagi City. In this place not only local residents who come to see the beauty of this waterfall but also many tourist come to see and take pictures in this waterfall. At this point we not only see the beauty of the waterfall but we can see on the right side exposed the Lake Toba from a height that looks like a painting very beautiful. To enjoy this waterfall does’nt have to go down to the bottom but can see it from a distance. But for those who want to enjoy splashing directly from this waterfall can choose the path of stairs to get down to bottom and about 1 hour. After arriving at the base of the falls don’t forget to look around the waterfall there plenty of green hills and the atmosphere’s very cool. Splash waterfalls make the base of the waterfall like a cloudy and very cold.

I know many people just see the waterfall from the distance, take some pics, and leave.
If your stamina is quite good and your apparels are enable you to move freely, better try to climb down the more-than-640-stairs to see the waterfall from below. Climb the rocks so you can see the bottom of the waterfall and feel its water sparks wash your face and creates hundreds of dew drops on your hair. The feeling will be hard to explain in words.
But don't forget, you have to climb back up! So make sure that:
1. Your stamina is good enough.
2. Your shirt and sandals/shoes enable you to move freely.
3. Better to go with friends to escalate the fun!

Oh, what a magnificent fall! Trekking down to the bottom of the waterfall was an excellent Idea too. The view gets better and better. The viewpoints from the top are fantastic, from one strategic point you could see the Sipiso Piso on your left and Lake Toba on your right. Our backpacks, our photographing equipment and ourselves got drenched completely from the mist at the bottom of the fall. But we could see the tremendous force of the water when it hits the ground and that roar was out of this world. Very scenic and very enjoyable if you are ready to get wet.

Its worth it!
Long journey with fabulous experience!
Three hours from Medan.
Standing in with the view of Sipisipiso Waterfall at your right and Lake Toba at your left.
Our tourist guide (Supir) said we are his first customer (within three years working as supir) whom tried to walk down the trail.
Haha. Funny yet worth it!
Easy to go down but thrill to go up!
You may try taking bath there.
Buy some drinks before you go down the trail.
Or else, it will cost you more down there.
