Bridgeport Secret

Who knew that Bridgeport had such a great and HUGE beach. It seems to go forever. There is plenty of room and I was there on a busy Saturday. Great for locals.

What a gem! A PTBarnum extravaganza of a beach park and though built in better times it is appreciated by all. Too bad Bridgeport doesn't have a little more money to keep it up. But if they did maybe it wouldn't be so special.

My wife and I like to walk along the beach almost every morning. The view is beautiful, the air fresh, the birds entertaining, the water unbelievably clear, and the other walkers and dog-walkers friendly. We can walk a mile or four miles, depending on how much time we have, along the Long Island Sound.

Went to Seaside Park this past summer and found it to be unbelievably beautiful. Clean and very enjoyable. They have lockers to change in, bathrooms which were clean and food to purchase if you did not bring a picnic lunch. The only downsize was the fee to get into the park. Went with a friend who had a sticker; no... More

I have to hand it to Bridgeport, they do a beautiful job of maintaining Seaside Park, a gorgeous 2.25 mile strip along Long Island Sound. I know the exact length because I bike there several times a week. It's peaceful in the early mornings, and alive with people on a summer evening or weekend. Every time I'm there it's different,... My childhood park will always be a place for me to picnic, plan a social or family gathering, take a stroll, watch a baseball or soccer game or watch the rolling waves on a breezy day.

The cost to get a car into the park is $60 a day. To much for a short visit. You can park on the road an walk into the park to get to the water but a walk to the the beach was more than a mile away.

This is a beautiful place to walk, swim or picnic. It is very clean. In the summer the concession stand and bathhouses are open. Sand is smooth not rocky.

Seaside Park is the best beach in Fairfield County. Plenty of shoreline and parking for beach visitors. The park also has a great playground and splash pad for children to play at. The beach is safe and we have plenty of baseball fields and soccer fields for everyone to enjoy.
