A Victorian jewelbox overlooking the CT river, this theater is known world wide. "Annie", among other famous productions, premiered here. Handicap accessible, and it has a lovely little bar downstairs for intermission enjoyment. Perhaps the largest library of material on the American musical, and actors come from all over to be in one of the productions. The founding director garnered... More

Goodspeed is fantastic. Let's start with the building, which is an absolute Victorian gem. It's worth the price of a ticket to see the theater. However, you'll want to buy a ticket so you can see a show. We have been subscribers for years and have never seen a bad show. They are Broadway quality and many of their shows... More

The name is deceptive--there's no opera here. The Goodspeed does excellent revivals of (mainly) broadway shows, with a new work sometimes thrown in. The casts are top notch, and the opera house itself is just a great old place. It's small, and overlooking the water. Worth the trip.

I love this little theatre. We attended the Festival of New Musicals today. We saw Row. The production was amazing, such talent. This is two years in a row for us, and we will try and come next year also.

We saw Bye bye Birdie most recently as well as numerous shows in the past. The Goodspeed knows how to put on a show, I really do not think there is a bad seat in the house( just my opinion), they building is just beautiful & with a ton of character. It has very convenient parking and several very good... More

Last Sunday afternoon my daughter and I went to the Goodspeed Opera House to see Chasing Rainbows. It was delightful. I had only heard of it a few days earlier and was able to get two tickets, one behind the other on the righthand side of the theater, rows E and F. My daughter has been a fan of Judy... More

The theater is a lovely piece of historic architecture and fun place to see a show. There are a few seats with somewhat obstructed views but call the box office and they will give you all the scoop you need and tell what seats are the best. Have a drink on the balcony overlooking the river and historic swing bridge... More

People come from all over to see the wonderful productions at Goodspeed. There really isn't anything like it anywhere. It attracts people of all age groups who enjoy music and dancing. We are season ticket holders and have been coming here for years. Production values are right up there with NYC except on a much smaller stage. Most seats have... More

Every Fall my best friend and I make an annual trip to this wonderful historic theater on the banks of the picturesque Connecticut River. It is a perfect time to view the changing leaves and to enjoy this quaint town of East Haddam. The Opera House takes you back in time to the late 1800's- very quaint, intimate setting with... More
