Founded in 1825, the Connecticut Historical Society (CHS) is a non-profit museum, library, research and education center that strives to inspire and foster a life-long interest in history through research assistance, exhibitions, tours and programs for all ages. The colorful and interactive "Making Connecticut" exhibit is filled with more than 500 historic objects, images, and documents telling the story of Connecticut from the 1500s through today.

This was our first visit. Really nice place. Regular exhibit of CT history was well done, interesting and interactive for kids. Special exhibits were great, especially the Beatrice Fox Auerbach clothes. We will definitely go back.

Specifically went to see the Beatrice Fox Auerbach exhibit. Also saw the Downton Abbey experience in Connecticut exhibit as well as what it was like in Connecticut from the time of the Native Americans till today. excellent museum definitely plan to take other friends there...More

Wow what a hidden gem in the heart of the city! You must bring the kids to this hands on museum of history! Not only will they be entertained you will as well! Great History with great stories! A must see for history buffs!
