Nothing really to do here but walk around and enjoy a little tranquility on the edge of a busy city. Take a jog, walk your dog or stop at the cart and eat like a hog. It's just the place to take a break from all the bustle and noise of downtown Hartford.

We were here for the Hartford marathon, and are so glad that we walked through it the day before. It is a huge downtown park, with walking paths, mature trees, a carousel, and the Arch! We walked there from the Hlton, a short couple of blocks, and enjoyed the day. It was super clean, and the fall trees were beautiful

Though the weather was uncooperative, we had a nice walk through the park. It was clean with lots of green space. Loved the architecture and structures surrounding and throughout the park.

Busnell Park is a lovely expanse of green with statues, fountains, a pond, a carousel, an outdoor stage, and plenty of room for a picnic or gathering or game of sports. It is located downtown, in front of the capitol building. There is a lovely historic arch on one side. We enjoyed our stroll around Bushnell Park and would recommend... More

The carousel is awesome and the park is good if you want to get your exercise and take a walk. If you stop by the pond to sit and watch the ducks, the filthy pond water littered with rubbish will gross you out.

The thai truck has the freshest and best thai food in Hartford county. Bar none. And the Jamaican truck ("Little Bites" I believe) has excellent food with traditional jerk chicken and pork. They also have some days with specials such as curried goat which is fabulous. Pull up a park bench and enjoy.

The biggest asset this park has is the merry go round which is great for little kids. The downside is there are no facilities so if you are with kids, your visit is over as soon as one needs a bathroom. Other than that, there are a few events. Its in the heart of the city with nice lawns for... More

Despite being right in the middle of a bustling Hartford, this is the one spot where you can actually find some solitude. Go for a walk or jog, or just sit on one of the benches to relax. It's a good way to escape for a little while.

A good place to wander around, sit and generally relax. On one side were several food vans, so you can even eat there. Also there are several chequerboard tables where you can play chess or draughts. There's a lovely fountain in the centre and the State Capitol dominates the hill top.

Bushnell Park is like a little piece of paradise surrounded by the city!! You can take some time to reflect by the pond, ride the carousel, or tour the arch. (Or do all three!!) It's a great idea to do it as a breather in between visiting some other attractions.
