Darko's latest Shakespeare "A Comedy of Errors" was a rewarding provocative assault of color, talent and sound. Always guaranteed to challenge ones thinking and astounding in the display of talent, the Bollywood ensemble piece was my favorite - a juxtaposition worthy of the creative direction and cast. Not sure the tentative audience was up to the challenge, but the show... More

I've seen a number of productions here over the years and am always impressed with the quality of professional casting and the opportunity (sometimes) to be able to talk to the director and casts after the shows. I was a high school teacher, and some trips were truly memorable for me and my students. They have a nice mix of... More

I saw Queens for a Year in October 2016. I thought the play was thought provoking and disturbing and excellently cast. I am hoping to go back and see Christmas Carol sometime in December 2016. The picture you have of the audience seating says it all. There is not a bad seat in the house and it is just big... More

Hartford Stage for years has always amazed me with their selection of entertainment in the Greater Hartford area and being downtown makes it all the more exciting.

My husband and I are in our second year of being ticket subscribers at Hartford Stage. We love the venue for its round configuration which results in great seats throughout the theater. The productions are varied and, I would think, appeal to a diversity of attendees. When people go, they should get there early because there are always interesting exhibits... More

On Saturday we attended the "Piano Lesson" (August Wilson). Hartford Stage is one of the best of a dying breed in the U.S. - Regional Theater. The season has six plays plus special productions around the holidays. It is both ambitious and outstanding. CT residents do not fully access the amazing theater in this state, particularly HS. If you can... More

Their reputation is stellar, for good reason. The Shakespeare productions are engaging and outstanding. Other play offerings also strong. Here and there some odd choices of plays. But excellent direction, acting, and staging in a comfortable theatre. Not to be missed!

Small theater/all seats are good seats. Drinks available in lobby. Lobby conducive to meeting friends and reviewing show posters and pictures. Always a great and professional theater experience. Parking available nearby.

Whether you like the subject matter or not, the plays will always leave you thinking. The staff is friendly, the seats are relatively comfortable and on the first Tuesday of the play's run, you can stay after the curtain falls for a conversation with cast and crew. It's always a treat to go.

Hartford stage is a small, intimate theatre with Broadway quality productions! Many shows have debuted here and gone on to become big hits on Broadway! You will LOVE the ambiance!
