Excellent well done on the changes. Absolutely lovely cream tea! Scones fresh, light and even better than before.
We prefer the acrylic painting as when on short stay you can take them same day and don’t have to wait for Post or issues with breakages....More
Absolutely fabulous visit this morning. The new owners and staff so nice welcoming and friendly. We found it much more relaxing than on previous visit. Mum and I chose pottery to paint (much cheaper than before too) and lots of pottery to choose from. We...More
We have loved visiting Chessel for many years, we live locally so it a favourite for coffee or a cream tea. The new cafe is brilliant! The design is wonderful, and what a fabulous idea to switch rooms, plus! They hope to be open all...More
We have visited Chessell Pottery a lot in the past and I would always have voted it my favourite place to visit on the Island. Unfortunately the changes that the new owners have made have changed my opinion completely. We came earlier in the year and...More
Thank you to all at Chessell who made my daughters birthday party a great success. We all had a fantastic time and would recommend you as a party function. The added bonus of delicious food and drink for the parents helped keep everyone happy.
Please do not listen to the negative posts as they are being harsh due to change.
The Cafe/Pottery has changed ownership so there will be changes, the cafe is much larger and the pottery is decorated in a smaller area.
I found the food great,...More
Returned to Chessell Pottery today and was very disappointed. The pottery workshop has been turned into a large cafe area (like having coffee in a barn) which has replaced the lovely old cafe. The pottery is now located in what was the shop. You can...More

Popped in here this morning for breakfast and we were absolutely delighted. This is was our first time visiting since the cafe has changed hands. The place looks amazing and the food was delicious. Husband had the full English and I had the Veggi option....More
On a very sunny hot day there was a lovely shady willow tree to sit under outside but we sat indoors and the vaulted high ceiling made it cool and comfortable for a lunch. The vegetarian mezze was plentiful, very tasty with lots of elements. The...More

Hi there - I think Chessell Pottery is closed in January but not sure. It is usually about a week between firings. They can post though. 01983 531248 is their number to find out. You could try fired art in Ryde instead (High Street). They have a reasonable cafe next door as well as pottery activity (Chessell is better for cream teas though!). Their number is 01983 614455 to check the times. I haven't been for a couple of years, but are usually open all year round. Hope that helps
