Love It!

Beautiful scenery. An amazing place to venture to. I definitely recommend finding a parking spot to walk this entire area.

Live in Mystic, and love the bridge, truly unique and historical. This bridge divides Mystic which actually is 2 towns, Groton on the West and Stonington on the East. In the summer, the river is busy with boating traffic going to and from the Seaport, north of the Bridge. Only very low boats can get under the bridge without the... More

Located in old town Mystic near Mystic Pizza. Built in the 20s. Worth checking out if you are visiting town.

This bridge is only one of two still operating in the country. It is interesting to watch this architectural/engineering feature open for boats to pass south to Fisher's Island Sound and north to Mystic Seaport.

More pleasant to visit in Spring, Summer or Fall. Enjoy shopping or sitting on benches in Park along riverside south of the bridge. Watch it open to let sailboats & yachts pass through on the hour.

An interesting piece of engineering. There is a riverfront walk alongside this bridge which is also nice. The shops and restaurants in downtown Mystic, while primarily pricey, are varied and unique.

One of the oldest bascule bridges in the country. Adds some additional charm to downtown Mystic. There are no tours, but obviously you can walk across it. Great view of the water while on it.

What can you say about a Bascule Bridge? Well periodically it goes up then down. It is pretty cool though and worth checking out if you are in Mystic.

There is a small park where you can park your car easily and walk trough the park to (and over) the bridge. There are some nice small shops nearby the bridge itself.

This is an unusual and small bridge that is fun to watch when tall ships pass through...I enjoy watching draw bridges open and close but it is not what I consider a must see attraction
