This is a small, but well curated museum. It’s also free admission, and on a particularly beautiful historic street that’s worth a visit on its own.

A small but carefully-curated museum. Best for music lovers. Underrated, underfunded, but they triumph in what they've accomplished.

The Collection of Musical Instruments has a wide range of historical instruments with deep holdings in stringed instruments, harpsichords, and pianos. It is considered by cognoscenti to be one of the greatest such collections in the world.

We went for a free tour one afternoon. Our docent was wonderful - her passion for the various instruments was infectious, and she had interesting stories about the instruments as well.

Excellent collection of all types of instruments and many stages of their development. Of particular interest is the collection of the precursors to the piano.
