Bit of a trek to get there but only a short climb to get to the castle and see some stunning views of the peninsula. Not that much to the actual castle only stayed for maybe 30 mins.

The drive up from bogaz was an experience not to be forgotten! The last bit had to be done on foot, you need to be fairly fit for this. The climb is rewarded with outstanding views. The drive down is also a bit hairy!

If you are in Northern Cyprus then you must take a couple of hours to visit Kantara Castle. It's a long and winding road up to the top but on a clear day the views are fantastic. Be prepared to walk from the car park...More

Very inexpensive to enter and well worth it the drive to get there. Fantastic views and very interesting history. One of my favourite things about the TRNC is the amazing history of the island. Well worth a visit.

I believe it is 9 - 5. There is nothing to stop you going in if the ticket office is closed - just pay on the way out, it is only a few TL. Take water as a minimum.

The area is almost completely isolated. Infact you do drive almost alone in the road for a distance before you see another car. There is a village nearby (Kantara village) but I'm not sure there is accommodation there-there... More
