This converted school has much promise as a municipal hub for the City of Norwalk. Housed in the renovated "Old Norwalk High", the city offices occupy former classrooms. There are two highlights to this building: The murals hung generously throughout the corridors The beautiful, but under utilized, Concert Hall.

It's worth a visit just to see the extensive display of WPA murals on the walls at City Hall. They vary in quality, but are an interesting and impressive look at life in the area (and beyond) years ago. Take a tour of them if it's available - truly a good glimpse of Norwalk's history.

The WPA murals should get more notice - they are terrific and remind us of the great project that was the WPA. Very informal - you walk through the City hall with a map. Wish they had something to tell a visitor a little more, but we did fine. Staff tries hard to help. While we were there there was... More

While attending meetings or concerts in the renovated building, I have fond memories of when I attended school. The use of the former school building has proved to be most acceptable and historic murals were preserved and hang here and in other places around town. The concert hall where I sang as a high schooler and later with Norwalk Community... More

More than just city hall - used to be the high school. Lots of interesting paintings on exhibit. Memorials and more. Parking on site.

A good City Hall. All departments are on the ground floor and easy to find. Staff is helpful. Parking is plentiful. Nice also as a concert hall - many free events throughout the year.

The many restored WPA paintings Alexander J. Rummler about oystering and life in the thirties are worth seeing. The City Historical Society gives a tour of the murals in the spring. If you don't want to wait for a guided tour then read up a little on oystering and Rummler. These murals give you a good idea what life was... More

Why visit city hall if you do not have to? We go to tax our over priced taxes. Or go to the planning and zoning department and even the probate court. All the people are helpful. But I would never go unless I have to go! ANd whenever I do have to go, I end up writing a check!
