When youre looking for a short drive, and an easy day of skiing, this is perfect. It is a bit pricey, but it is certainly a great place to learn to ski for younger kids.

This is a small little ski area in the middle of Southington. It's so cute. I'm not a big skier, but it's a great place to learn or just get out of the house for a few hours in the winter. They serve food too!

Had a private snowboarding lesson and learned a lot. Definitely worth the price. Such a great local mountain.

Took kids for lessons - staff was outstanding, food was average. Overall experience was great and couldn't ask for better conditions! Even fake snow was outstanding!

Mixed feelings. Not their fault, but we just don't get enough snow around here. They try hard, and I'm sure, spend a small fortune on grooming and machines, but if you want GOOD conditions, you need to head North.

Mount Southington is a great local mountain for the family. We like to go night skiing after work. It's small but better then powder ridge. Check it out

yes they make snow but I do not know if they do so in October. I would be surprised -- it would still be too warm.
