Always try to bring visitors to Martha's Herbary when driving thru the 'Last Hidden Valley' of northwestern CT. RT 169 starts in MA and is a scenic road winding through the forest and farmland (and private schools) of CT. A stop at Martha's Herbary will delight you with the owner's (Michelle) good taste and quirky finds. She hosts a craft... More

Enjoyed their tea luncheon with a group of friends. Very special attention to detail and providing an enjoyable dining experience. Unique gift items in the adjacent shop.

My daughter and I were delighted by the quality and diversity of the gifts and clothing. Although we did not purchase anything this trip, we will return!

This is a sole owner business and she has great buying skills! A very eclectic, yet not so far out selections of goods from baby, to sister, aunt, mother or grandmother...or daughters too! Wonderful fresh herbs are here as well. Want to do a cooking class? Check out the schedule. Great for just browsing as well. Summer is particularly wonderful... More

Very Disappointing was the unreliable communication, lack of follow through with inquiries. The grounds and building were well kept, tasteful.

With every visit, the Herbary has so many new items, always great linen clothes and the jewelry selection is unbeatable. I have a linen dress I got there 8 years ago, and it still looks great. Worth the stop.

recently stopped in with my sister after a lovely breakfast at the Vanilla Bean. They were hosting a 'vendor' fair. Amazing time. The chocolatier stole my sister's heart who is gluten free. Amazing and different gifts. Staff is warm and helpful.

Quietly drove through these parts of New England-CT. En route this spot caught our eye as an herbary garden gift shop we would like to visit in May June time permitting. Thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and customer service as needed. Beautiful respite. Both men and women in our company who enjoy incorporating more of the "finer qualities in life" recommend... More

I LOVE Martha's Herbary. Lots of little treasures, especially jewelry and scarves and unique clothing. The staff is super nice and helpful. Great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big box stores. Pomfret is a beautiful little town.

We stopped here as we were driving through to see if there was anything interesting. The outside gardens are sort of pretty, with some neat sculptural wooden things mixed in. They did have a few herbs for sale outside, but not too much. Inside, the building isn't a large inventory of things, but does have a variety of items including... More
