Salisbury Winter Sports Association (SWSA) is best known for its annual Jumpfest ski jumping competitions, usually held the first weekend in February. These include the Eastern Nationals, target jumping under the lights, junior jumping, the Human Dogsled Race, ice carving, the Snow Ball, and others. Other events during the year include a skijumping camp for young people, ski/skate swap/shop (first Saturday each December), Brew-Ski, and other community events. Jumpfest is also the centerpiece of the Jumpfest Winter Festival, an area-wide celebration leading up to an including Jumpfest weekend.

I would say overall this is a good time for those who appreciate serious ski jumping. The commentary by local pros is there. The refreshments are available. The crowd is a bit tribal in that they are obviously family members or have been friends since...More

It's not every day that one can experience the ski jumps! Salisbury is a beautiful small New England village, and the Salisbury Jumpfest is just a slice of Americana for a fairly odd sport! Very fun to watch on a winter's night!

Spent a few freezing but cheery hours at Jumpfest. The event ran from 1-3:30 or so, with about 15 skiers (the youngest ones were 10 years old!). Event was well organized. You park in a grassy area, then walk for a few minutes, get your...More

An all volunteer Olympic qualified Ski jump combines expert jumpers with lots of local fun. Great visibility up close to the jumpers combined with food, drink and a warming fire.
