Hike with a view
Oct 2020 • Solo
I literally stumbled upon this location for a walk during lunchtime. Set in the thick woods, there was a main well sculpted pathway with small offshoots —With the recent storms, there was a lot of debris In the woods themselves however, the walkways have been cleared for the most part and in some of the lower lying moist areas wooden plank type walkways have been prepared to keep the traveler dry. The peaceful walk is less than a mile until you hit the beautiful Lake Lillinonah — evidence of campers/campfires remain with a small amount of trash unfortunately left as evidence. Several hills with large boulders and stonewalls winding throughout the property keep things interesting.

Great for a quick getaway stroll.

Nice trails and pretty views

Lots of mountain bikers, but they're animal friendly. Watch out for trash left from campers/hikers (keep a garbage bag handy!) A bit hilly in spots and pop up streams can make for dicey "hop overs" but a nice option in town for a quick hike.

Where Waldo wasn't
Nov 2016 • Couples
Nice gentle hiking area. The main trail slopes down gently, for the most part, ending at Lake Lillinonah. There is a area by the water that can be used for a picnic. Boats tie up there sometimes. The Town of Southbury advises that, "This park consists of 150 acres on the banks of Lake Lillinonah. Fishing, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, and mountain biking are permitted."
