Cresent Lake is a great place to go for a walk in the woods, bring your canoe or small boat to fish or row for exercise. We like to go and just sit a watch the water and ducks the live there. Great place to relax and commune with nature.

This is a great place to hike along the trails, fish, canoe, etc. at all times of year. People ice fish in the winter and walking your family dog is very popular as well. There is a large parking lot that gets crowded on weekends and during the week is fairly busy as well. The trails connect to the larger... More

If you take the trail, it would take you about two hours to get around (especially if you take the upwards trail). I suggest the upwards trail as the ground gets extremely muddy year round when traveling directly around the lake. Not much wildlife. You're not supposed to fish but people do and you see dead floating fish near the... More

This is one of those places that we residents take for granted. I used to come here often, but over the years I had drifted away and forgotten the beauty and tranquility. Today I hiked with a friend and my dog along the orange and blue trail and totally lost myself to nature and peace for 2 hours. We got... More

The lake is wonderful for kayaks and canoes - no motors allowed and you always see someone fishing. In the early spring the frogs are plentiful in the vernal pools and there are several hiking trails appropriate for small kids and families to more adventuresome on the Blue Trail which goes into Plainville and beyond. There are picnic tables and... More

There are several hiking trails from which to choose. I have tried the green and the orange trails. The orange trail is longer and more difficult, but does provide some beautiful views. I have not been kayaking here, but it would be a perfect spot.

The park had a great boat launch for non motorized boats. This seemed to be vey popular on the day we visited. We chose a short hike along the water's edge. The only negative feature was the number of routs which could present a tripping hazard for some people. I would recomend the park based on it's water sports and... More

Picture perfect quiet lake worth visiting. Nice place to Kayak, fish and walk the trails. There is a known abundance of snakes in the area-thus the name 'snake lake'.
