Great hike

The trail around the pond is a decent hike. Takes about an hour at a moderate pace. Not too difficult but there are some rocky and rooted parts.

I often go to burr pond to hike the trails with my dog. During the summer months it can get a little crowded on the beach, but it's beautiful all year round. During summer you can swim, get snacks, picnic, and even rent kayaks to go out on. They also have a boat ramp.

A good place to rest, to walk, or picnic with the family. A beautiful lake surrounded with wonderful trees.

The water is perfect: super clean and just the right temp. The safety rope still allows enough depth for the water to come up to my shoulders and I am pretty tall! The faciities and parking are also just fine and really convenient. We will be back again and again I am sure

Wonderful for hiking, swimming, picnicing and enough parking unless it's a holiday weekend; so first come first served!

This is a lovely park. There is a beach that is wonderful for small children and nice, shaded picnic spots. The pond is small enough so that the trail around it can be hiked in an hour or two, but large enough for canoes, rowboats, or kayaks. There is a small boat launch area as well.

Simple sandy beach that we rented a double kayak for the kids to use outside the swimming area. It was a nice relaxing day and the pond does not smell like some do.

Burr Pond is a nice, relatively quiet spot to enjoy nature close to the conveniences of Winsted and Torrington. I have taken my own small boat out here, and also a group of friends in canoes we rented on site. The pond is large enough to afford a sense of privacy and tranquility on the water, or hiking the perimeter... More

Great park for picnics, swimming, sunbathing. Good for family outings. Lifeguard on duty. Covered pavilion. Bath rooms and changing house. Crowded on weekends.
