Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Requires some gut as you will be going down a rope about 60 meters down into a cave. They provide shoes but be prepared with suitable clothing as you will need to do some kind of short hike. Lunch is provided in the package

The view of the light is amazing. But it has to be a sunny day or else you can't see the effect. Can take a lot of photographs.

Coming back up is also being pulled up the rope. Do not worry about safety as you will be provided with all the climbing harnesses and equipment.

My trip to jomblang Cave was outstanding, it think the cave is underrated. The 280m long trekking through the dark and slippery jungle cave was a life time experience. And dont forget the zip line from which we get down and up the 50m tell cave!

The price of the cave is.... I will not say anything but it is complete worth it!
I never thought that I will see something like this in johns.

The cost of going into the cave is quite expensive at first i thought. But after I walk over to the cliff to go down (which I thought we need to abseiling down ourselves) turns out not that case. There are ten to twenty people there getting ready to support you down into the cave and now the price makes sense as the locals need to be fed too!
The walk down there is muddy and adventurous. Miss your step, and you will fell down and injured yourselves. So make sure you be very cautious.
Into the main attractions parts aka Jesus Light, we get to see the mesmerizing lights for a short while and that's considered lucky for us on a cloudy day!
Make sure you plan your time properly before coming here so that you get to make the most out of it!

First negative review I've ever wrote. I found the tour to be extremely misleading. The pictures on tripadvisor all show awesome pictures of people standing on a rock in the light coming down. Turns out, they do not let you take pictures on there anymore, but are still advertising those same photos (hence the misleading part). I was scolded for trying to take a picture there. You pay a hefty price to see something that is realistically done and over with in under 10 minutes minus getting up/down the cliff. Pictures will be sub-par esp if the light is bad.

You are essentially paying the fee of getting down and coming back up via the people holding the rope and a small meal/tea/coffee.

Overall, have appropriate expectation management. You pay a lot of money to get to a quite isolated area and get little in return in my opinion, but the expectation was you would get to take some cool pictures, which is no longer the case, and see something amazing (it's just like a cenote in Mexico with less water realistically so if you've ever been to one, that's what it's like). I would not recommend or do again unless the price is significantly lowered and they change the policy on pictures.

Staff was nice, limited English capability though (at least the guide was). Strictly speaking on the tour, it was 1 star for the experience and price you pay for it. Maybe their policy has changed recently, I don't know, but wouldn't do again or recommend to my friends.

The experience was really interesting. Route was really muddy, but the heaven’s light was really worth it.

What an experience this was - and the photos you see from other travelers are really how they come out when you get home. I would do this again in a heartbeat!!!

Note that during high season you must arrive by 7:30a.m. to ensure you have a spot (the number daily is limited). If it is low season you can get away with an 08:00 or 08:15 arrival (leaving Sheraton in Yogyakarta t-1.5 hours).

Din expect there is 300m muddy, slippery, rocky and dark hike. And I brought my 7yo boy with me! Whole hike is tough and hard, but it is so worthy! We made it to the end and come back! Its beautiful! And u will see the light only when u are lucky enough! Worth a try, remember to wear slippers, sport attire and prepare a head torch if you may, It is really useful. Extra clothes and pants too, u will need it after the hike.

It’s one of the best experience so far for my trips to Yogyakarta.

The feeling when you’re waiting the staffs lowering you down to reach the cave down there, hanging 60m above the ground, and walking on the slippery+dark cave were something that made this trip unique.

It’s all paid off when i witnessed the ray of lights at the end of cave. Simply breathtaking.

Safety is probably one of the concern from fellow tourists. Rappelling up and down wouldn’t be an everyday experince, especially if one is affraid of height.

However they’re quite dicipline and professional in the way how they make sure few times that all gear have been set up properly before they lowering you down.

Input for the owner:
1. I noticed you took picture of us when we’re about to go down. However the pictures are only availabe in printed version. It’d be nice if we can get it in the softcopies version. It’ll be great for visitors and it’s a kind of promotion for you guys as well.
2. If it’s arranged properly, inside the boots can be dry. I have my boots wet inside, but managed to have those dry before i went down.

Thank you
