there are no public rest rooms near the beaches. Not good when you travel with young children. At least put in a portable potty.

The beaches are pristine and not too crowded, but rough at high tide. There is a severe drop off, and crushed stones and shells at the break of the waves. I was tossed around pretty good, but when we returned next day at low tide,...More

Always have a blast at Dewey with large extended family. Clean beaches and water. Allows tents so large number of people can gather. Doesn't allow drinking and smoking on the beach.

Quiet and clean public beach I've been to in comparison to VA Beach. Didn't feel overcrowded and is great for friends or family to hang out.

Loved the beach and watching all the dogs play in the morning. Clean with attentive lifeguards. Be aware there are no public restrooms therefore you need to go back to your hotel or house

We stayed at the Hyatt on dickson ave. July 31-4th. We went to Dewey beach each day. It was a great experience. Its not to crowded and very family oriented. No crazy partying on the beach. Our two life guards were very friendly. We brought...More

I’ve been coming to this beach all my life and every time I love it more and more. It’s a little less crowded than neighboring Rehoboth which is nice. The beach is wide and very clean. The main retail stretch offers some of the best...More

Pretty sure you can bring a cooler with food same as most beaches. Alcohol is not allowed due to open container laws. This beach would be a beautiful place to relax and picnic for the day. And if you need anything, there... More

I don't know the area very well, I only visited for a weekend, but I did see someone with a metal detector over on Dewey Beach. It will be less crowded/travelled than Rehoboth, which is the more touristy location.
