Most people know about lighthouses along the shore and many tour them. But here is a lighthouse at sea!! The ship has been well restored to reflect its mission and be accessible to the public. Guides are offered and ours (Dave) was exceptional. It was a hot September day and he did everything to make our tour comfortable and safe... More

Lewes has SO many great pieces of history, including the Overfalls lightship. And the docents are very knowledgeable, or visit the small gift shop. Well worth the time to visit (several hours). Take plenty of pictures.

Enjoyed learning about the history of the light ship. Our guide was very knowledgable and the tour took about 30 minutes. Could access most of the ship.

Really nice tour of a lightship. Knowledgeable and eager tour guides. Only 5 dollars to visit ... Good for families, adults, kids.... I highly recommend a stop if you are in the area.

I went on the Overfalls with my daughter, wife, son in law and teenage (14) Grandaughter. The $5 er person donation (used for her upkeep and preservation) was money well spent for the guided tour. Talking to the volunteer guide makes everything on board come to life. One really begins to understand what it was like to be anchored offshore... More

Interesting maritime history lesson of life on a US Coast Guard lightship in the 1900s. Tour the ship with a knowledgeable volunteer who truly wants to bring this fascinating piece of history to life.
