Amazing how much historic significance is in this small beach town! Some of the towers are still visible to keep watch for U boats. The life saving station and other museums were interesting as I walked around town. One public beach parking lot had to plow the sand instead of snow during a recent winter storm. Smile.

Lewes beach is a small beach, compared to other DE beaches. However, it has all of the amenities a family might need: umbrella & chair rental, rest rooms, snack bar & life guards (all in season). During non-season, you are likely to have the place to yourself. It is on the Delaware Bay, so there is minimal "high & low"... More

Nice beach to relax with very little distractions. Pay to park. Have showers and bathrooms and you are walking distance to DQ. Watch the ferrys come and go or sit back and take in the salt air. Nice restaurants very close to this beach as well.

Lewes Beach gets very busy n the summer because it's a nice quite town. Lewis is awesome 4 older people not lookn 4 the boardwalk rehobeth has to offer or the bar scene Dewey has. Lewes is awesome 4 retirees and older couples. The beach it's self is nice, Roosevelt inlet is shallow so kids can play n the water... More

I've been to many beaches but this one falls flat. The waves are small and choppy which you'd expect in winter but the water is overly brown and there are too many gulls. Not a place to relax but the pictures aren't bad.

Lewes Beach is a great place to visit any season. Due to it's location on the inner portion of the cape and breakwater, the surf is usually very gentle and calm. The beach is clean and well kept, and there are great views across the Delaware Bay and you can watch the large container ships entering and exiting the river.... More

Glorious weather in the low 80's encouraged us to wander along this clean wide beach and feel the Atlantic Ocean on our feet. Quite wonderful! Lots of facilities (Comfort Rooms!) and easy access to shoreline restaurants as and when needed. Beautiful.

This is the best beach I have ever been to because there is a sandbar connected to the beach so you can play in the water without being knocked over by the waves. We had a 2 and 4 year old in the water and they loved it. You can walk out 30 feet from the shoreline and the water... More

We walked to the beach from the historic area. Pleasant walk and a clean quite beach on the bay. Probably great for little ones-- no waves!!

Decided to shoot over after enjoying our lunch in town at the Buttery. Beach is large but appeared dirty. Now I know this is the off season and I'm sure it's very pretty in summer. Comparable to our Jersey shore
