Even when I lived in Camden, I traveled to Somerdale for the movies because Cherry Hill was too dirty. Anyway, I love this place to watch my movies and I go frequently... but the snacks are or way too high. I eat before or after...never buy there. I would have given it five stars but when I did a school bus trip there, they wanted to charge an older lady who was also a bus driver a regular soda price for a tiny cup of water. I fussed about it and asked to speak with a manager then the manager gave her a regular cup of water free of charge. Also, I have OCD and a germophobe, so I notice everything. I once had to get someone to come n clean the seat that I paid for online bc it was sticky n dirty.

We decided to check this theater out for the kids summer movie series. Each Tuesday throughout the summer you can view the kids movie at 10am for $1 per ticket. We got there a little before 10am to find a LOT of people standing outside and TONS of school buses. It was obvious that various groups, including day cares, were taking advantage of this program. We had encountered this problem with another theater near us a few years ago & would often find that the showings would be sold out due to the day cares. Subsequently that theater quit offering the program. So, we got in line in hopes that the movie would not be sold out. I watched as coordinator after coordinator in front of me purchased 10-20-25 tickets at a time. I was surprised when I got to the front that I was still able to purchase the few tickets needed for myself and children. Inside the theater, we found that the old concession stand was in shambles. It looked as though there was a renovation in progress. Looks like they are putting in an arcade as well as new concessions. They had a sign up to visit their new concession stand in the hallway next to the theaters. It was a small makeshift concession stand. The theater itself was large and comfortable. They had more than one theater showing the summer kids movie, so it did NOT end up being as crowded as I had anticipated. Only real issue we had was that one coordinator was often in charge of 10+ kids, so the kids were somewhat loud and rowdy. Some kids in our row kept getting up out of their seats MULTIPLE times making us get up and down. Sound was good and picture was good. Theater was comfortable in terms of temperature.

My grandson wanted to see the movie Sing, so I took him to Movies 10, Newport. I had not been there in years. I should not have taken him, but I did not want to disappoint him. Before entering I noticed that the building look tired, OK I was alright with that. The staff when going to the refreshment/Candy counter were friendly and cooperative. Upon entering the Movie Theater itself I was overcome with the smell of vomit! Walking was dangerous because of something wet and sticky (I looked down against my better judgment) to try to be safe and not fall into whatever it is. My grandson stated afterward, "I got used to the smell" Really!!!!! I do not want to give a negative review but someone needs to clean the place. Friendly staff is not enough for me to go back even for my Grandson.
