Wear flip flops or some kind of footwear as the myriad broken shells can be tough on the feet. Even when loads of people are there it won't seem over crowded.

This is really a gem. The beach has lots of beautiful white sand. Parking is easy and it wasn't crowded the day we were there.

We visited the beach on a cloudy day and of course it was not crowded. The entrance goes through an area of beautiful homes to admire before the entrance. The entrance fee is $8 per car load. They have parking, but it probably gets full...More

Very beautiful area. Nice clean beaches, great fishing and friendly beach goers. It has a more private beach feeling to it which is nice. This spot is definitely one of the nicest beaches in SWFL.

Nice and clean beach. Have been here several times and each time there is a lot of shells. A nice drive to get back to the beach while you look and see very expensive homes on your drive back. Be prepared if you go during...More

I have grown up in the area and still love this beach. Love see dolphins here. Super for shell finding. Clean bathrooms. Nice place to see gopher tortoises. Nice boardwalk to preserve sea oats. Great for kids to find shells for their own shell collections.

Nice beach, very quiet, with spectacular sunset view. If you want a place to meditate and breathe clean and fresh air this is the place.

Can you ride a bike in the Preserve or on the trail to Wiggins Pass?

Sorry for the delay. Not checking emails over holiday weekend. You could ride a bike, but just be aware that the paths are not paved, they are a firm sand base which may present some challenges in a few spots.

I'm sorry for the disability your husband has to deal with. If he is able to take breaks prior to reaching the beach I do think he would be fine. Unfortunately there is a walk to endure when it comes to a health issue to... More
