It was cool one day on our vacation so we decided to visit this lighthouse. We didn't think it was open on Wednesdays, so we were going to just walk around. Then, a lady that worked there showed up and opened up the lighthouse and the gift shop. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating. Climbing the lighthouse was challenging but... More

Nice place to visit. Took some great photo shots here. Will go back again. Worth the visit if you are passing through or even visiting Carrabelle.

During our travels my GF and I passed the Lighthouse and stopped by to have a look. This lighthouse is similar to the one we climbed at Hillsboro. When we arrived there was no one there but the woman who was in the store/museum. She unlocked the lighthouse for us and allowed us to climb and take pictures. There was... More

This is part of the lighthouse tour - be sure to get your lighthouse passport and stamps at each lighthouse you visit. Really enjoyed the museum and video, folks are very nice and friendly Great view of the Gulf and the Apalachicola National Forest from the top of the lighthouse,

We stopped by on a Monday morning when we were driving the Big Bend Scenic Byway. It's a lovely, well-kept lighthouse and there is a small museum adjacent. Neither were open when we visited; It looks like it is open on Thursday-Sunday afternoons. There is an admission fee to climb the lighthouse and children must be at least 44" tall.... More

This was just a photo stop as far as I could tell. There was a nice circular drive to get off the highway, and exit out again safely. I am a lighthouse lover, and enjoy taking pictures, climbing to the top and sleeping in those which have become beacon & breakfast facilities. This shape of lighthouse is new to me,... More

We stop by happenstance on a Thursday, when the lighthouse is open to the public. We chatted with the pleasant docent who kindly opened the lighthouse door for us. 123 steps later a beautiful view of the sea. The lighthouse was a 'kit' from the 1800's. Fun stop on the Forgotten Coast. Nice little museum inside the house at its... More

Very nice volunteers. Gave us a pseudo-tour even though they were closed. Great historical info and lantern fest sounds like fun.
