Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the Village. The volunteer staff could not do enough to make our stop here enjoyable and educational! A special shout-out to Dieter for taking time to relate the interesting stories he has to tell, especially about the early railroad days in the area and the interesting pioneers who settled the Clermont area. Ms. Maureen, thank you for the tour of one of the homes in the village, and the wonderful historical nuggets of information about the pioneer family and stories about the home itself! Thanks to all the volunteers, your time and efforts are much appreciated!

Clermont is a nice little town with great shops and very nice retail people. We enjoyed walking along the lake and wandering in town. We didn't find any restaurants that were particularly interesting to us so we left town and ate at The Crooked Spoon. The ambiance of the building leaves something to be desired, but the food was absolutely fabulous.

Love this quaint little Florida town. We parked our car and just strolled around the town. So many restaurant and unique stores available. We enjoyed walking to the park area and walked on the pier. The water view is breathtaking.

When interested in Mexican food I just want it taste like expect it should. Not exactly a small request
Garcia's nailed it. My chicken quesadilla was hot and big enough to satisfy without the common extra 1000 calories. Atmosphere was clean and quiet. Service was quick but not rushed

These buildings are well preserved and a nice tribute to the past. No there is not much in the Village, but what is there is very nice and the volunteers give some good information. I wouldn’t drive out of my way to see this Village, but if you are in the area stop by and take a peak.

This little village is opened Friday - Sunday and manned by volunteers. 1- 4p.m. They ask for a $2.00 donations. Train depot, library, 2 homes to wander through, and decorated for the age. A military Quonset hut and the day we were there the volunteer was a World War II vet, so nice to talk with him about his military experience.

I had never heard of this museum before, though I had spent time in Clermont. Then one day I came across the site on line and we decided to do a new day in this small town west of Orlando on State Rd. 50.
The buildings (all of which have a short recording describing its history) consist of:
Herring Hooks Schoolhouse
which is the most recent addition and is a replica of the original 1881 that was originally located on US 27 just north of SR 50. It was originally a hunting lodge and then a school house. Unfortunately it wasn't open when we were there.
Cooper Memorial Library
Built in 1914 and now includes library as well as other historical items from the area.
Outhouse
Train Depot
This refurbished building is the only one in the park that stands on its original location--but now instead of rail road tracks there is a walking path.
Quonset Hut WWII Museum
This has uniforms and other items from the era. The gentleman in charge of this facility was in fact a pilot who flew out of England during WWII and has some interesting stories to tell
Kern House
This 1894 house is two stories and is full of furniture, clothing and items like any home of this era would have. It's a beautiful space and I was ready to move in as soon as they put in electric so I could bring my big screen.
Townsend House
This home has pictures of the African American family who lived here and is beautifully refurbished.
There are several volunteer who were decorating the area while we were there and they were friendly and welcoming which added to an already wonderful place that also has a beautiful view of the lake.

Fun stop on South Lake Trail. Not open very often. The hours are Friday, Saturday, Sunday 1-4pm. Run by volunteers tho. Admission is FREE but donations are appreciated. Great way for young folk to learn about the lifestyle of times gone by. Very well done.

Clermont Historic Village is a perfect stop for history buffs in the picturesque Downtown Clermont, FL. We have visited several times and there is a little something for everyone. My 8 year old loves the children's' rooms and details in the two houses, as well as the wide variety of media in the replica of the Cooper Memorial Library. The WWII museum holds many goodies and often you can encounter a military veteran or knowledgable history buff Boy Scout to lead you through. And finally, enjoy the beautiful lake view from the old train depot. It's a good place to while away an hour or two in a small town! Oh, and they accept donations, but your visit can be FREE!

This is a very nice small town, mainly on one row. There are two cafe's. Lyns deli and ice cream cafe serves very nice sandwiches, and has basic rather cramped seating. The original owner, Lyn sold the cafe to the new owners 12 weeks ago. The food and service is good, sandwiches reasonable priced. Also served excellent ice cream. Average sandwich price about $7. Ice cream $2.50. The second cafe is more spacious, Ceesers Palace cafe, which serve a varied menu, all reasonably priced. Service is very good. The town itself has several antique shops, a barbers, cake shop and a post office. The post statin is opposite Lyn's cafe. There is a lovely walk along the lake front but wear sun screen as it is pretty open. If you walk to the small jetty, and turn left you can walk to a small play area that has a covered shelter with clean restrooms, whilst turning left at the pier and walk for about five minutes there is another play area and rest rooms. The latter is relatively new about 5 months old; very good for the younger ones. I would recommend the town to people looking for some peace, quiet and chill out time.

It's free, there is a donation bucket in the first house and the bunker. You all will have a wonderful time. The caretaker's are there and can answer any questions you might have.
