Interesting site but museum is not open on Tuesday and Wednesday, you can till walk the site. The only fee is parking and that is on the honor system. Nice place for a picnic with tables and open area's to enjoy the view. The restrooms are open even if the museum is not.

This is a gorgeous space to take a stroll through the grounds and take in the beauty of Florida's Nature Coast plus learn about the interesting history of the area. The visitor centre has a good video (about 7 mins) explaining the significance of the site and artifacts on display.

This is a lovely place to visit if you are in the area. Not sure it's some where you would want to travel a great distance to. Some lovely views along the river. Only $3 per car makes it extremely good value It's even based on an honesty box Wow It's a very peaceful place to sit and relax, take... More

Pretty nice, quiet and short hike around the park. Beautiful view of the river. Very helpful staff. Nice little museum about the park. Good maps available. Only a couple bucks to enter and park.

The largest mound is from piling up sea shells like a Mayan pyramid that had a temple on top. there are two other mounds that are the graves of close to 4,000 people. There is also a museum you can walk through and see artifact and artist renditions of what the area looked like.

Relaxing trails to walk or ride bikes. Read about history, research as an archaeologist, or just relax & enjoy the lush vegetation & critters.

There are several things to do at Crystal RIver State Park including pre-columbian Indian mounds, don’t be think a big hill most are mounds of earth, different sizes and certainly manmade, they do look out of place. Two are middens where they threw their trash. Two are burial sites where they think hundreds of bodies lie and two were ceremonial.... More

The staff and facility is excellent. We usually don't like this kind of tour. The grounds are peaceful.

My husband and I visited during the day on our weekend trip to Crystal River. Our whole first visit, including wondering around and seeing the visitor's center lasted maybe 45 minutes. It is an interesting spot to learn about Native American history, especially if youre interested in that stuff. We came back later in the day to watch the sunset... More

Visited while out and about hiking on vacation. We were happy the dogs are welcome to walk around (on leash,) but this place seems like it needs revamped. Pretty day, interesting to look at, but much more could be done. You really don't need more than 30 minutes to spend here.
