This is a great place to spend the morning. There were several species of wood peckers. It's a short walk to the boat ramp and dock where we saw manatees swim by.

This is a nice little trail that connects Fort Island Beach to the pier. Only takes a few minutes to walk through though.

Take your sunscreen, flip flops or bare feet with plenty of snacks & beverages. Great place to lay on your blanket & watch the birds, fish jump or folks launch their boats.
