Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in the area waiting for something else to open, so we drove here. Not much to see, but it is in a gorgeous setting. Don't go out of your way, but if you're in the area, it's an ok stop.

Beautiful historic site. It's not strenuous to get to, it's right next to the street. There's a picnic area across the street. Make sure you take the time to read all the historical details. It's in a very quiet peaceful area. We'll definitely stop here again.

i liked this place because it reminds me of history in Florida when we had sugar mills and old wagons and fishing near by it was by far a great place to learn some of my Florida history

I have to say...this was underwhelming. The whole state park in about the size of one city block and the ruins are interesting...but nothing that you need to see in person. I'm a history buff and I was left as "eh" with my visit,

Quick stop. There is a picnic pavilion across the street where the parking is. About half of the informative signage is missing so you can guess what you are looking at. There was a person who seemed to be down on his luck or homeless under the picnic pavilion. Based on the other listings, this seems to be a hangout for folks not at their best Be aware of a surprisingly large amount of traffic when backing out of parking spots. Pros: has rest rooms, it's across the road from the parking lot, it is free, and you should be done in 4-10 minutes.

This is a very small ruin, that's easy to pass by before seeing it. The state park parking lot is on the opposite side of the road. We decided not to park there today since there were homeless people hanging out under the picnic pavilion that adjoins the parking lot. There's a bar/restaurant next to the ruin, and that might have been a safer place to park, but it just didn't seem worthwhile since we could see all of the ruin from the road.

My husband and I were in the Crystal River area and love to find unusual, historic places. It is very close to Homosassa Springs - within 1/2 mile I would say. We only spent about 15 minutes here, but are very glad we stopped. It was informative and unique. Not sure if kids would find it engaging, but we did.

The ruins were cool to drive by. It won’t take long to take a look at this great example of a sugar mill. The post office & the Ellie Schiller park are nearby. The cafe was closed but you can walk through the exhibits.

This is an easy to miss historical site and one should check it out if they are visiting Homosassa Springs, Wildlife Park. It is right across the street. This old sugar mill ran for years before being discontinued. R=There are pieces of equipment still in place and informative signs.
