    Wonderful Wildlife Park and Gardens
Great park. There are so many things to do including a animal sanctuary park, botanical gardens, historical house, walk-in aviary, butterfly pavilion, animal shows, and of course the flamingo pond where you can feed the flamingos from your hand. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time as this park could easily take up most of the day. The wildlife park is moderately sized and perfectly walkable but the grounds and gardens are very extensive and take a long time to see in their entirety. However for those in a hurry like we were there is also a tour tram that will take you through the gardens in about half an hour.

    Book the VIP Tour
We booked the VIP tour and had Candy as our guide. She showed us a great time and gave us lots of information on the animals and trees. The gardens were lit for the holidays and it was really magical to see. Our tour came with a private flamingo feeding which was really fun!

Beautiful grounds, great tropical plants and animals
The grounds were very pretty. We loved seeing the tropical animals as well as the plants. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. They had a tram ride as well with the cost of admission. They even held our luggage at the welcome center.

Beautiful, and wildly exciting if you like birds, animals, exotic plants and nature!
This place blew our expectations put of the water! We originally found the gardens on tik tok before our trip and added it to our must stops! Little did we know that we would have so much fun! Myself, my husband and our 1yr old had an absolute blast watching all the different birds they have, the free roaming peacocks and peahens, cats and the the animals in their exhibits! The flamingos get so close to you it was so neat! The grounds were absolutely beautiful with fun sculptures, and beautiful plants and trees! We also really enjoyed looking for wild iguanas and definitely weren't disappointed they had alot! We highly recommend and it was one of our top stops and memories made on our trip!

    Fabulous Day!
I love flamingos and this place did not disappoint. There were so many flamingos to see and observe. They were so colorful and all different. The only small disappointment was that they wouldn’t eat out your hand. So the ibis birds enjoyed our feed. The tram ride, gardens and butterfly gardens were an added plus. So were the presentations through the sanctuary. It was a perfect day!

    Old Florida family fun
Hidden Fort Lauderdale attraction. I say this because both of our Uber drivers did not know this place existed and said they would come back with their families. A beautiful park with large Champion trees and an old Florida feel. A nice escape from the non stop development going on in the rest of the area. The price seems reasonable too. We did this after a cruise and to avoid a long airport layover and the welcome center is kind enough to store your luggage while you visit.

    A hidden gem!
Such a large, pretty botanical park with lots of peacocks roaming and a flamingo pond. You can hand feed flamingos which was the highlight of this trip. We also did the "Josh the Bear" meet and greet. We got to feed Josh treats through his enclosure. Fun family time!

    My new favorite wildlife sanctuary
We had several hours between when our cruise ended and our flights departed, so we visited Flamingo Gardens. The gardens themselves are beautifully kept and very tranquil. The blooming orchids were lovely. The animals were fun, the gift shop had excellent selections, and the food was fairly reasonably priced (loved the pickles on my cheeseburger). Special highlights were Olivia doing the nature show as she is a natural, warm, funny, and genuine speaker, and Carol who conducted our train tour. What an awesome hidden gem! I didn’t know this at the time, but they will store cruise ship luggage while you visit. This would’ve saved the cost of storing my bags at the airport for those few hours. Our cruise line should’ve offered this as a post-cruise tour option.

very nice and the people there are very nice.
A beautiful place. More animals than flowers but still a great place to visit. The tram is a nice way to cool down and enjoy the park. I would do that in mid trip, walk around half the area then do the tram to cool down and then the other half.
Thank you for such a nice review. We do have over 3,000 exotic and native plant speices so we hope you come back and get to see more of them

    A great place to visit
We stopped here as part of a visit to the area. We took advantage of the September special price offer with BOGO. We initially walked through the aviary section before catching the tram tour which drove through the park area pointing out trees, plants, and animals found there After the tour, we walked through another area with animals. The panther was hiding in the shade, but we did watch otters swimming and a bear sleeping. We thought it was a great place to visit.

I live only about 15 minutes from here and had no idea how large it is! The garden is home to a diverse collection of animals and plants. The animals are all close to the entrance and easy to view. The walking paths are well maintained and eco-friendly (paved with recycled tires!). The whole experience was relaxing, engaging, and enjoyable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and thorough answering questions. The home of the original owners is on display as a museum and a volunteer tour guide named Hank walked us through. He did a wonderful job and seemed to love what he was doing. While the tickets were a bit pricey, they are well worth it and I would absolutely return here.

Flamingo Gardens is a one-time Florida tourist site, when Interstate travel was unheard of. Today it has morphed into a 'must visit' if you have any interest in animals and plants. The Flamingos are a big draw, but there are many other animals, including a Florida Panther, Alligators. My favorite was the aviary, where injured birds come to recover or find a new 'forever home'. February is breeding season, if you go now you will see stork nests as well as baby pelicans.
I was there for the trees and plants, which are quite amazing. It's an old property, so the trees are huge. there is a mango plantation from the property's farming days, which you can see on the tram tour.

Go now, if you have a nature bone in your body you won't regret it!

Had most of the day to kill after departing a cruise and having a late afternoon flight out of FLL. It was a little chilly, the flamingos were beautiful. The facility was very welcoming and we welcomed the ability to walk knowing we would be on a long flight after. It's not a pristine zoo, it is an animal refuge. We enjoyed a 30-minute live show with some of their rehabilitated birds that refused to leave when freed and love the idea that animals that have no where else to go can find a home here.

We spent a lovely afternoon at Flamingo Park, I can strongly recommend it! The grounds are well maintained and there are so many unusual trees there.
The highlight of the trip was the bird aviary, We took our time there to sit quietly to just observe the many types of beautiful birds. For 25 cents you can buy food for the birds and enjoy feeding them. It was amazing to see so many peacocks just roaming around..The flamingo pond was absolutely wonderful to see. We went to the animal
encounters show and saw a white skunk, a snake and owl. We saw the sea otters being fed which was fun. The staff are very informative and answered all our questions.
We took the tram ride around and the guide was very knowledgeable. At the Wray House we did not take the tour but there was a docent inside who explained the history- The gift shop was well stocked with a good variety of souvenirs.
All in all a great value for your money and a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon.

We were concerned this might be a tourist trap. It is definitely NOT!
My husband and I both had a lovely afternoon here, spending almost 3 hours. We attended the wildlife show and took the narrated tram ride.
There are numerous peacocks and pea hens who roam the property. The aviary and flamingo areas are wonderful. We saw a 1 week old baby pelican and witnessed the fierce protectiveness of its parents.
This is not a zoo, but a wild life conservation and protection area.
Well worth a visit.

Thank you so much for your 5 star review and for recognizing that we are not a zoo! It is a treat to see the baby animals born in captivity, but it's even more special when we get to see them released into the wild. We hope you are able to visit again in the future!

Flamingo Gardens just posted a BOGO deal on Facebook for the month of September if you buy your tickets at the door. Staff was very friendly. Bring your own water because it is HOT! Tram ride was nice and showed a lot of different plants over a wide acreage. Yessenia at the Wild Encounters show was awesome! Very knowledgable and great speaking skills. I’ve lived in Florida my whole life and I’ve never seen a wildlife show like that. Olive the raccoon was so adorable!!

We come every year to hand feed the flamingos and peacocks. The grounds are a spectacular botanical event as well. They have trees of many species including banyon trees, the house museum where the original owner lived, a tram ride through the property, it's just wonderful. The tram driver explains everything in a 20 minute circle tour. Its a great place for the kids of all ages.

Both the Tram Guide and the Wildlife Experience Guide were filled with details and information about the animals and vegetation. You can take the tram ride around the property and learn about all kinds of trees, plants etc or you can take your time and walk the grounds.

The many varieties of birds and other animals are all well cared for you get an up close look at them.

I did take the tram ride and unfortunately those of us at the back didn't get to hear much of the guide because of screaming unruly kids behind us with the Mom's yelling at them. A consideration perhaps, have a tram for families with small children? Actually it is understandable, as the tram ride is a talk about trees and plants so most kids would be bored easily.

Visited the Flamingo Gardens in January 2021. We were impressed from the arrival to departure. The staff were very friendly and helpful at each step of the way. I recommend that a person or family take the Narrated Tram tour at the beginning which gives you an overall view of the facility before you look at individual areas. Our tour guide, Lori, did an outstanding job and was very knowledgeable about the animals, plants and trees. I didn’t find it on the web site but they do give discounts to military, seniors, and AARP, which was nice. The place is run mainly by dedicated volunteers who keep the place clean and were very knowledgeable and helpful. I highly recommend this place for all ages.

Bad. Having 3 trains not a busy day, the personnel use a train that doesn't have capacity for handicapped person. Simple she is the only person that have to wait staying and wait another 30 minutes to used the next train. Really unconsider for a handicap person not being able to stand. Really disappointed. What was the problem using the same car/train twice.
