We found this lovely park by accident after visiting Deland railway station. What a beautiful place to be. We travelled over to the park by ferry and seemed to be the only people there, apart from the very friendly rangers. There is a trail to...More

This is a charming place for a family picnic or for some peaceful contemplation. The small boat ride from the parking spot to the island is brief but enjoyable. I have not had an opportunity to spend any time in the camping areas on site,...More

Spent a lovely few hours trecking round this park, I only wish that I'd had more time free to complete the full trail. Lovely and peacful walk with plenty of wildlife on display, a fun little boat ride across to the island too - just...More

Fun to ride the Ferry over, you can camp, and they have cabins you can rent. Hike around the island, have a picnic, enjoy beautiful, unspoiled nature. Kids love it, too! Oh and to make it even better, it’s free!

Really nice park to visit. You can hike or rent a bike. Really worth a visit. We did 2 hikes over there and did see turtle, snakes, lots of birds and so on.

Stayed here over night in our tiny houseboat. Really enjoyed waking up to the wildlife. This is a beautiful park and the showers were perfect!

We had a fun day meeting friends for an old fashion picnic. The children played on the playground, we watched hikers come & go, the fishermen & boaters were all around.

Hontoon Park is a great local spot in a natural setting. A free ferry boat takes you across the water from the parking area to the island park. The ferry only transports up to six people at a time, so there may be a wait...More
