Took our ShutterBug's Photography Club down to the Springs to see if the manatees were in...YES! It's winter here and cold so they come into the springs to keep warm. Water is chrystal clear enabling some nice photography shoots. We also took the two hour boat tour, and considered it well worth the $25 to go. We saw eagles, all sorts of birds, gators in abundance, both young and old. Captain kept up a good talk explaining the area and flooding during the hurricanes.…

You show a picture of a pond. It's a deep, dry, grassy hole. This is a neighborhood park, but not something you would make a trip to visit like I did. Disappointing.

Set in the southwest part of Deland, Spring Hill Park is a good place to escape the hustle and bustle of town life. A pavilion and picnic tables are inviting for hosting an evening supper or Sunday cookout. The basketball court is a draw for those wishing to polish their game. The small pond expansive grassy area, and a canopy of trees invite walkers for a leisurely stroll. Good parking capacity to accommodate visitors.…
