Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Harborwalk Village one afternoon of our vacation with our 11 and 7 year old boys. It was almost impossible to find parking. We finally were able to find a spot in the parking deck. The signage was unclear at that point on how to actually get to the Harborwalk. Once we finally made it, we went into a few stores, which were nothing special; especially considering the parking situation. We did the 7D experience, which was neat, but pricey! Lastly, we went to the arcade upstairs. We were trying to decide if we wanted to do lazer tag and the worker acted like we were invisible. Literally, we thought she was a wax statue or a robot.
This might be a good place to go if you are looking for a water excursion, but I do not recommend for shopping or fun activities with kids.

Lots to do= cute shops, carnival food trucks, zip line, ax throwing, restaurants, other entertainment. Busy little area. Great place to people watch Looks different at night with lights lit up & active night life. Watch the fishing boats come into port and the captains cut up the fish for those paying fishermen.

Earlier in the day we had lunch at AJs which was good. What was nice is AJs had parking. We went back to our hotel for swimming and had reservations for a Sunset Dolphin cruise through Sea Blaster. The only reason we went back to the Harbor Boardwalk was for the cruise. We paid the $10 to park, was told a storm was coming in and the cruise might not happen. The cruise was canceled 20 minutes later and parking could not be validated. Was a waste.

We went here to try to get dinner and walk around. When we arrived and paid our parking it took forever to find a spot, they were so full. Everywhere we tried to eat had at least a 90 minute wait time and some up to 2.5 hours. Everything seemed overpriced and like they were tourist traps. It is nice to walk around and our food was good but way too busy for my taste.

We strolled through here after a dinner at AJ's so it was dark and many of the little shops had closed already. We enjoyed seeing the zipline, Buccaneer Pirate cruise boat and doing some souvenir shopping.
Many people were having their pictures taken at the jumbo-sized beach chair in front of Margaritaville restaurant.
It was interesting checking out all the fishing charter and excursion boats lined up on the docks.
Arrive earlier in the day to take advantage of the amenities, not so late in the evening like what we did. It is pretty to see it all lit up at night, though.

Could be fun, cute shops, very pricy.I feel like the owners of the aqua balls owe me $45 for the outfit I had to buy my daughter when she went into one of those aqua balls that leaked and she came out completely SOAKED. No apologies or even acknowledgment from the staff, she just tossed the ball aside. I bought her shorts and a shirt, the only ones I could find. $45. And the sizing ran very small, so it’ll likely be worn only this time.

This tourist area has numerous bars, restaurants, shops, and a few attractions and "touristy" things to do and is adjacent to a harbor where you can rent water craft, take boats for a variety of reasons, tours, fishing, etc. The main problem is parking. There is not very much and it can run $20 even if staying for a couple of minutes. The day we went the crowds were not heavy, yet we struggled to find a parking spot. During the summer/spring break with large visitor population it could be horrendous. We would not go again.

We were a recent visitor to the Destin Harbourwalk. This time our son was just old enough to ride the train that runs through the harborwalk. We couldn’t wait to ride it with him. While at dinner that night at AJ’s, we looked up their website to see if it was still running in the Harbourwalk. In fact it was and it said it was a $5 ride. We thought that we super reasonable and we had exact change. As we finished dinner and approach the train, the older lady who was driving the train said “that will be $20”. Huh? $20? As I pulled out my wallet, I told her multiple times that her website say “$5”. She repeatedly ignored us. She took my $20 and walked off. I felt she was scamming every single rider. She wouldn’t even answer me. She was pocketing the other $15! I’ll never be back. She was dishonest and I will get to the bottom of this with upper management. She was taking advantage. I have a video of her as well from that night. We rode on Thursday August 18, 2022!
$20 bucks for a 4 min ride is a joke!!! Plus you’re charging 10.00 to park! How much more money do you Harbourwalk?
Beware!!!!!

This is a great place to see some local catch and eat. My biggest issue is that they charge $10 to park. I feel sorry about anyone who has to go here to get on their excursion. You are really roped into another $10. Then the restaurants charge a village fee and a village tax. What a way to drive people away.

This is the biggest tourist trap we’ve ever experienced. It starts with the overpriced $20 parking which you have no choice but to pay. Once you turn into the street to get to the village, you are in the parking area with no warning and have no choice but to pay $20. After we parked, we were greeted by a couple of guys who were working at the “welcome center” which turned out to be another scam from Wyndam hotel sales people who we’re trying to pressure us into going to a timeshare presentation. Shopping stores are meh, the food options are overpriced and mediocre at best. Not much better than carnival food. The place has potential but reeks of dead fish and scan artists.

There are all kinds of hotels, motels, condominiums, and Airbnb‘s within 5 miles of either side of harborwalk village. I would check on TripAdvisor or some other travel sites for Destin and/or Fort Walton Beach

Some restaurants nearby have free parking for their customers or there is a city lot located behind Mcguires that charges $5 for a 24 hour period.

Can you rent a mobility scooter at Harbor Walk Village?
Written 13 June 2018
I'm not certain since I brought my own WalkAid. But I do know that there were ramps everywhere and I had easy access to everything. I've used Scooters before where I had them delivered to my Condo the day I arrived and they were picked up the day I left. Check out this company - they have regular scooters and ones for the beach. I hope you enjoy your stay!

what is there for the kids and prices? are there the hamster things? thanks!

Agree with all the answers posted here, in addition, there are jet-ski rentals, dolphin watching cruises (day and night) glass bottom boats, fishing charters, etc. We loved AJ's Sunset Dolphin Watching cruise and the dolphins did not disappoint!! All very reasonably priced, in our opinion. We can't wait to go back again this October and do it all again!
