Nice old fort with lots of history

We enjoyed the tour and the views of the river from the fort. Makes for a nice stop with the family for a couple of hours

We really loved our visit to Fort Clinch SP. It's a lovely park with great views of the lighthouse, as well as some great nature. The beach is also lovely. The best part, though, is the fort itself! It was a totally cool experience and so fun to walk around! So glad we did it!!!

We decided to drive to this park not knowing what to expect. Upon entering the park, you drive through a canopy of trees which is beautiful. There is a restored fort that housed both Confederate and Union soldiers during the Civil War. You can learn about the life the soldiers lived during the war. Several campgrounds are available and there... More

We have visited many Forts in our travels and this one was well worth a visit. The restoration efforts give you a revealing glimpse of the history of Fort Clinch. Very reasonable to enter, and the staff was very informative. Lots of hiking trails in the park and the beach acess is pefect for a walk along the ocean. Highly recommended... More

We had planned on a short visit to the Fort but ended up staying for hours. The history was spellbinding & the Fort with grounds are well maintained.

Although my wife and I have lived in NE Florida for over 30 years, and have made dozens of trips to Fernandina Beach, we've never taken a look at Fort Clinch State Park. On a romantic weekend there last week, we decided it was time to resolve that. We were intrigued at what we found, namely a historical civil war... More

We were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to bike ride in the park. We had previously driven through and been to the visitor center. By riding all of the roads in the park, we were able to ride nearly 11 miles on a windy day. Riding by the campgrounds made me think about RV camping! The pier is... More

Spent about three hours viewing the buildings and attached museum. If you enjoy Civil War history you will like the Fort.

DO NOT STAY IN SITE 22 ON THE RIVER LOOP. If u are in a fifth wheel or long motorhome, there are low overhanging branches. It took us an hour to get in. The park gets a 5 star. This site gets a 1. Told the ranger and he said he knew about it. Pull trailers would have no problem.
