Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I attended a 4day medical conference here. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was for the food they provided (very limited & included lunches were bland), the fact they don’t allow you to bring outside food, and lastly the parking situation. They do have a place to purchase pizza inside and a snack area with coffee/frozen bagels. I spent $7 for less than desirable “Starbucks coffee” and a frozen not fresh bagel. I do have to confess they are under construction for the next 3 years but it was a hassle to find parking due to its availability. They did provide offsite parking with shuttles, however during the week it was a hassle during the week. One plus was that they did not charge us for the weekend parking. Overall, I would say it’s not a bad place for a conference but the availability for quality food onsite is limited and they don’t allow outside food.

Was here for Fort Lauderdale Orchid Society annual show. Friday, getting there, was a breeze. Saturday, was a nightmare. Because parking is shared with Port Everglades and Cruise lines, those attending one of the three events in the Convention Center were barred from using the parking structure, causing massive traffic jams. Neither the Convention Center people nor the PD posts any signage regarding alternate parking. Total cluster....will never attend any event there. If I were an event organizer it would never get my business.

There is always plenty of parking here. It is easy to get to, always clean, easy to navigate and fairly centrally located from several highways. Food choices could be much better

We really enjoyed our time in here when we went for the FLL Home Show las Saturday.

First of all, this place has a parking garage and our car did not have to stay unprotected from the heat of the sun.

Second, I loved their very Caribbean looking decoration. I think they did a great job decorating this place.

Third and not least, everything inside the show was great, clean, and with great people working in here.

See you next time!

Went to the Pri-med South Conference here. Very spacious, rooms comfortable. Wish they had more options for food/coffee/drink inside though

This huge venue is located right next to the Port Everglades cruise terminal and is close to the Portside Center which had an amazing water feature. Massive car park.

In May of 2018, we began the process of booking and event at the Broward County Convention Center. We received an approval in early June, when we began the process of contacting the BCCC's Vendors, to Price out the total costs, as we had an approved date in February of 2019. Two Weeks Later, we were contacted, to inform us that the February Date was no longer available and needed to choose another. We selected March 9th and 10th, 2019. We agreed on the Date and it was placed on hold. Again, a couple of weeks later, we were told that a cheerleader competition was complaining that they did not want to hold their event on the same date as our event. So, they placed the dates August 24, and 25th, 2019. As, we find out later, the event was not about a cheerleader event, the reality was the event booked for a yoga expo.
Now, we are in early July, when I was informed that Andres Castano, Sales Manager was no longer handing my Event. We now had a different sales person Twee Vuong, Director of Sales & Marketing, who was not paying attention to booking my event and had a novel of misinformation, so I complained to, Renee Browning, Assistant General Manager. She told me she would handle everything and arranged a meeting at the Convention Center in late August. I arrived at the meeting and was informed that Twee Vuong, Director of Sales & Marketing, was no longer handing the event and I have a different sales person named, Andrea Erion, Sales Manager, who Renee Browning, Assistant General Manager, promised us that she was incredibly good.
So, we have the meeting and Andrea Erion introduces me to the head of event department and vendor.
I explained in detail my needs to each department head and vendor of the Convention Center and Saskia Fisher from the Tourism Marketing Agency for Broward County, Florida.
Results of the meeting from early September 2018 to mid-October 2018.
1. Melissa Ayre, Sr. Catering Manager: I tried to book small meeting rooms, which was approved, where I would need food services. One of the rooms (for example) was for Green Room for 12 Celebrities. The Catering Bill for the one room included 200 bottles of water, 140 fruit cups which totaled 2,000.00 for that one room. In fact, her total for catering, including cash bars was just under $10,000.00, when I confronted Melissa Ayre, Sr. Catering Manager, I was told that I needed to pay the total 14 days before the event, but I also needed to pay a 40% deposit 11 months out and after the event she would refund my money.
2. Javier Fernandez, Everlast Productions, Audio Visual & Business Center. We first contacted Javier Fernandez in June of 2018, we had a lengthy conversation and I was promised to receive a proposal for all my production needs within two weeks. Now it’s five months later, I we received was a series of phone calls, over this five-month period offering reasons why he did not get to the Proposal.
3. Twee Vuong, Director of Sales & Marketing and Andrea Erion Sales Manager continued to overstate and under preformed. They promise you the world and they do nothing positive.
4. Renee Browning, Assistant General Manager. This women word is not her bond.
a. After the situation with the Catering department artemins to overcharge me, I spoke to Renee Browning to cancel all the extra meeting Rooms and I only wanted to used Hall A. In early October I complained that I did not have a contact, she told me that she would handle it ASAP. She sends me an agreement dated August 22, 2018, before her big meeting which had all the extra rooms which I needed removed from the agreement, in Early August I was quoted a price for the hall and meeting rooms of $16,500.00 and now the charge is over $25,000.00.
b. I receive a bill from the security department for more than $15,000.00, I complained and then Renee revised the bill down to $7,000.00.
c. Renee and Saskia Fisher overstated the amount for the cost of Hall A only which I was quoted in early July a total of $11,000.00 plus but Renee and Saskia inflated the price of the grant from Tourism Marketing Agency for Broward County, Florida, to more than $25,000.00. After the fact, I realized why Renee and Saskia asked me to reapply for the grant, when Saskia asked to fill out a new application with far more hotel rooms than I needed. I was told that she needed the application to exceed 2,300 room nights when I only needed 900. When I asked Saskia for a copy of the approval, she told me she could not, I also asked Renee the same question and told me she would send me a copy, that was three weeks ago.
d. Renee Refused follow the following requests:
i. I asked for a document which shows that the Convention Center has Hall A on hold, which she sends me an email which reads Ronnie Dee has Hall A on hold for August 23, 24, 2019.
ii. Requested a contact with the correct information since July of 2018, have not received the contact after six months.
iii. All the estimated bills for a/v and other services is always inflated and when I complain I get a revised bill which s 50% of the original.
iv. After a month and at half, I have not heard from most of the convention Center Vendors.
v. There is a lot more I can add to this list of situations of discrimination and misrepresentation on the Part of the Broward County Convention Center, SMG Corporation. the management company the Broward County Convention Center and the Tourism Marketing Agency for Broward County, Florida.
I send an email to all parties named above and have not heard from anyone in over a week. Over the past six weeks, I have spent over $20,000.00 and invested 6 months of my time and my staff’s time in setting up in pre-production tasks for this event. I think Renee is having her people coverup all the misrepresentations, but I have all the documentation thought emails and voice messages to make my case. I guess the only way for me to come out even is to take everyone to court.
Do not use the Broward County Convention Center for your next event, do not lease convention space or meeting rooms that are managed by SMG Corporations and do not believe anyone from the Tourism Marketing Agency for Broward County, Florida at www.sunny,org.

Imagine 3 floors and countless rooms, with foodie kiosks ringing the long hallways. Very modern decor, super clean, and a great place to escape the heat. Parking is a breeze, but will cost you $3 for the 1st hour, $5 for the 2nd hour and up for more time. You can access the center either thru the cruise ship terminal to International Drive, or from 17th St. The only “eatery” that was open at the center was a pricey pizzeria, selling 8” tomato pies for $10. Not much to rave about, so would recommend that you bring your picnic basket with you.
