- Darryl HOrlando, Florida8 contributionsJust Meh, nothing to get excited about.Went for an early dinner around 5:30pm, wait staff was fine, no issues at all, very pleasant. Food was Meh, Salmon was dry, pan seared, no garish. Coconut shrimp was excellent. Crab cakes were good, ceasar side was tiny. I guess the view was the best part overlooking the intracoastal. I doubt if we return because of the mediocre food though. Prices were somewhat high IMO for what they serve.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 October 2023

A first class experience. Superb staff, a special mention to our waiter John and the reception staff. We were on a two night pre-cruise stay. Having read Trip Advisor reviews we decided to walk from our hotel Renaissance Marina and take potluck to get a table. Probably best to pre-book. It was a twenty five minute stroll but well worth the effort. We arrived at five and given the choice of an outside table if we waited twenty minutes. This gave us a chance to look around the marina and watch the waterway traffic. A text told us our table was ready , in a great position to watch children feeding the tarpon. Amazing excitement for all concerned.
The 15th Street Fisheries has a very good vibe, there was live music but not intrusive.
Menu was varied and food was delicious. Fish is a must. Given the position, ambience, quality of food and service prices are reasonable. If we return to Fort Lauderdale we will be back.
We were lucky to meet the owner who was eating nearby with his family. Always a good sign. A delightful gentleman.

We’ve been to 15th Street Fisheries many times, but this was our first experience dining upstairs. I had made a 5pm reservation (what can I say, we are old). We were seated promptly at a lovely table overlooking the intercostal. There was a anniversary card on our table, which I thought was a nice touch. Our servers Ernie & Dennis were friendly and knowledgeable. Water and jalapeño biscuits brought to our table, they were delicious, not spicy (which is great for us because we don’t do spicy) Drink and appetizer order taken, we split crab cake appetizer, 2 came with order. Very good, served with sweet aioli sauce. I had a loaded peach Bellini which was very refreshing and my husband had Bourbon Renewal which he very much enjoyed. For our main course I had Spiny lobster tail, served with delicious side of mashed potatoes & roasted broccoli with bacon. My husband had the grouper, he left the dish so clean, it didn’t need to be washed lol. At the end of our meal, we were surprised with a hot fudge sundae to share. It was a very sweet ending to a very nice dinner. Thank you.

I have been going to this place for more than 15 years, and I have never been disappointed. Tonight I was there and the server, Sophia was fabulous, attentive but not over bearing, and her knowledge of the menu was right on point.
The food was spectacular (appetizers, entrees and desert).
Of course the scenery at the inter-coastal location is always a plus.
I'm sure I'll be back again very soon.

We went to this restaurant after hearing it is often voted the best waterfront dining in South Florida. If that's the case, people like the view and don't care about decent food. We were seated in the "upscale" dining. With most entrees priced at $30+. Over server was very pleasant, however, having to wait ten minutes for pepper, another ten for butter and almost that long for a fork was ridiculous. Especially given that the servers worked in "teams", the the other one coming by a few times to stare at the table without saying a word and walk away. There was a 40 minute wait between courses. When the entrees arrived, the Ahi tuna steak was six slices of thin tuna and the halibut was so overcooked it was about as hard as the table.
This place is a total joke, depending on tourists that don't know any better or perhaps hanging on to a once good reputation.
Total waste of time and money.

What an awful experience. We took an Uber from Hollywood, Florida to Fort Lauderdale, Florida on a tip that 15th Street Fisheries was a good restaurant for seafood. In pouring rain we jumped from the car and ran into the lobby. Four, pretty, young girls stood behind the hostess stand ignoring us while they had a conversation among themselves. I stood waiting to announce I had a reservation. Finally, they noticed me and told me to go to another hostess stand. She pointed toward the bar. We walked all around a big bar and did not see another hostess stand. We asked a server where the hostess stand was located and she said she was just a waitress and pointed us back toward the four hostesses. Finally, we asked a manager and he told us that people with reservations have to go to upstairs and escorted us on an elevator. arriving upstairs where we noticed a musty smell. The upstairs was old, dark and worn. A waiter appeared and did not introduce himself, and I asked him his name. He said he was Mr. —-! ( I am not posting his name intentionally.) As we waited to be served drink by Mr. —?—, a woman manager sauntered from table to table greeting patrons who were seated near us. She looked at us and started to pass by us until we caught her eye. Maybe two women were not worthy of her attention. That did it. We left!
We went elsewhere were we were welcomed instantly. When you spend big money for dinner, you should enjoy the ambiance. Fifteenth Street Fisheries charged big prices which would not be a problem for us. Why stay at a mediocre environment that treats you as if it is a chore to seat you? Not my kind of place for an expensive dinner. We made a good decision to walk out and found a gorgeous restaurant on the water in Hollywood, Florida where we enjoyed a huge seafood platter of shrimp, lobster, clams and oysters. The waiters were polite, and the fresh air from the sea permeated the gorgeous setting. It was the complete opposite of Fifteenth Street Fisheries. Do yourself a favor skip Fifteenth Street Fisheries!

The drinks are strong and made well but all the food was terrible. We had an attentive server, but there is no excuse for the food. I am truly embarrassed for the bartenders and waitstaff that have to serve this food. Unfortunately, many customers will take it out on the servers and their tips, but it's the owners, management, and kitchen at fault. We ordered 2 of the $18 Mahi Fish Tacos. What we got was 2 plates with 2 teeny tiny pieces of dried up Mahi on each one. One piece was the size of my pointing finger, the other piece was the size of my pinkie finger ( in both length and width). It was supposed to be blackened but it just looked (and tasted) dry. It came with a dab of guacamole and a very watery mango salsa, plus 2 small corn tortillas and a pile of thickly shredded raw green cabbage. The fish and tortillas were served room-temperature. Since we ordered 2 dinners, we thought the waitress made a mistake and gave us one order, split on 2 plates. Nope, I confirmed this was 2 separate orders. It was truly a sad and lonely presentation on the plate, and very boring in flavor. I wouldn't serve this to anyone, much less in a restaurant - even if it was $3. One side order was sweet potato fries which were so dried up they must have been re-fried a few times before being served to us. Extremely dry and very tough and chewy. The other side was a bowl of plantain chips which were on the stale side - also tough and chewy. I suspect they were re-fried as well. There was no flavor or seasoning on them whatsoever. Just fried, stale, round plantain discs that tasted old. Another one of our friends got the lobster roll sandwhich which was slightly better, but put on a very cheap white bread bun which she didn't eat. Her side was yellow rice and flavorless. Also a boring, amateur, unappealing presentation. The best thing we ordered was the conch fritters. These fried dough balls tasted very fresh (and were served hot) but had very little conch in them. I struggled to identify any conch at all, but the fried batter was tasty if you like bread/cake. No dipping sauce with it - just lemon wedges. The remarkable thing about the fritters was they were sitting on a bed of lettuce that was rotton and slimy. The lettuce leaves were clearly black and slimy on all the ends. I just couldn't believe they let this go out of the kitchen. It was clearly visible, so they are knowingly serving rotten lettuce. I will never eat here again and hope by sharing this you will spend your money elsewhere. Shame on the owners and management since food quality was much better many years ago.

After reading some of the bad reviews here all I can think is that people are CRAZY! The only way I can reconcile it in my head is that there appear to be 2 different "restaurants" here with 2 different menus & severs. The Fine dining is upstairs and the fish & chips kind of joint is downstairs. The locals seem to know the difference as everyone who asked where we enjoyed supper then inquired if we went upstairs or downstairs. If the suspense is killing you, we dined upstairs - & the cuisine was on par with the best I've had anywhere. The service was upscale, as were the prices so bring your wallet. Dinner for 2 with an appetizer & cocktail, a bottle of wine, entrees, cappuccino & desert ran about $250 tip included. Not something I do everyday but you can bet when we vacation again in sunny Fort Lauderdale, we'll be paying 15th Street Fisheries (upstairs) a visit.
P.S. Why is this listed as an attraction & not a restaurant on tripadvisor? I'm pretty sure there is a place to buy fresh seafood here, and its located right on the inter-coastal waterway amidst all the billionaire's homes & yachts, but I think of it primarily as a restaurant, at least in terms of the way people are reviewing it as one here.
