Thank you so much for your review! We do our best to please all of our audience members with the different shows that we have at the auditorium. We are glad to see that you had attended several of the events. We are hoping to add some concerts in the future.

Ring of Honor was an awesome and excellent wrestling event!!!
Nov 2017 • Solo
I attended the Ring of Honor wrestling event on November 11, 2017. The Ring of Honor Honor was awesome and exceptional. The event lasted from seven to eleven p.m. I saw Kenny Omega and Cody Rhodes wrestle. The War Memorial is accessible for people with disabilities. They sell food and drinks here. This location is spacious and clean.

Hello Marjorie! Thank you so much for your review! Ring of Honor has been coming to the WMA for several years and I would have to say that I think this was one of the best events they have done. I appreciate that you mentioned how well we accommodate people with disabilities and that we keep things clean. Those are two things that we want to make sure we keep up on. We hope you come to another Ring of Honor event and tell everyone you know on social media! Thank you!

A Piece of Ft. Lauderdale History But Still Has Its Purpose
Mar 2017 • Friends
Is it the most up-to-date theater space? No. Is it the most attractive venue? No. Will you see the latest headliners there? No. However, you will still see a great show or can have a good conference or can hold a nice event there. It's clean, convenient and well cared for. It's scheduled for an update that will be welcome. And while the neighborhood may be questionable at times, during events there is always security.

Hello Phyllis! You painted the perfect picture of our auditorium! In its day, it was the place to see and be seen. This is where the Florida Grand Opera began its journey; so that tells people how long we have been around. Our first renovation was completed with the installation of new seats. We are looking forward to updating our sound and lighting system next. Thank you for reminding people that although we have a few wrinkles, we have a fabulous past and want to maintain our future.

Out dated
Apr 2017 • Couples
Old and out dated, and located in the middle of a gay park. This is not where you want to be after dark.

Yes, we are old and outdated. We were built in 1950. However, we are under some renovations. I don't understand what you refer to our location as being a gay park. The auditorium is dedicated to the veterans that served our country. We have a new dog park and a Recreation Center. The park is open to all people from all walks of life. The park is also closed after dark and I agree that since it is closed, there is no reason why you would want to be there. However, we have a lot to offer during the day!

Easy entrance from Hwy #1, plenty of parking. Mainly used for events, shows, and attractions. I have attended many over the years. Restroom and concession spaces, also very nice outside landscaped space.

Still holding on
Nov 2016 • Solo
Recent took our students there for a field trip. I was impressed that the auditorium is still well cared for and clean. Not many venue are hosted there as many prefer the direct downtown area. War Memorial is a classic that still provides a great space for hosting any performance.

Needs to be Updated in GREAT AREA!
Dec 2016
Building is tired needs a remodeling project. Parking was suppose to be free but there was a $6.00 a car charge. Lines were very long to park. While the do have handicap help its a problem to get to the show room floor due to stairs.

Thank you for pointing out that we are in need of a remodeling project as that is just what is going on right now. The first phase of our remodeling project is a rebuild of a new seating structure. There will be more remodeling improvements to come. We have handicap access to the left as you enter through the main doors and it is a ramp that goes directly to the floor. There is also another ramp in front of the building. I am sorry that someone did not point this out to you.

A Charm in the City - Historical Fort Lauderdale War Memorial Auditorium
Oct 2016
I Love this place! The historic War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, just North of Broward Boulevard on Federal Highway, So easy to get to, easy parking and/or valet and what a great and varied event filled Auditorium. A Jewel in the crown the 1950s historical Auditorium! Nestled in the unlikely areas between gorgeous Rio Vista, Lake Ridge, and some of Fort Lauderdale's loveliest neighborhoods, an eclectic event emporium of all time! Set back past the beautiful long green lawn, canopied trees, in the City but not in the crowd. The outstanding offerings rum the gamut from Dance and Ballet, orchid shows, cats, show, modern and Motown performers to Car Shows, Guns Shows, arts and crafts, nautical festivals, free tree give-aways in the City and so much more, I can't even remember all the varied events. Oh! Yes, can't forget the Gold Coast All Girls Roller Derby. Local art, traveling acts, and MMA. Check their Calendar! Check their Facebook page. You never know what maybe coming up or going on - could be any night of the week too. Usually very reasonable night out, with concessions or the Food Trucks, places to walk to for a nice bite and the shortest drive to gourmet dining on incredible world class Las Olas Boulevard, the City of Fort Lauderdale's Memorial to our Veterans of War, they would approve, something for EVERY taste. Day time and night time events, right next to Holiday Park, a sports park, tennis center, raquet ball, yoga, jogging, baseball and soccer fields. Bring the children! A wonderful family day! A beautiful night out. Casual to glamour, easily reached by buses, or a quick walk from nearby fine hotels. A trip to the Fort simply must included a outing to the War Memorial Auditorium and a fun, fine meal afterward, before or in between! We live here, we love it. We walk over. Its just super to have it right there and we find ourselves there all the time. There's a good bike path to the Memorial and a beautiful ride through the grounds and into connecting Holiday Park, user Friendly! Something for everyone in a unique tropical setting all with due grace and charm of 1950s Fort Lauderdale!

We are so happy that you love our auditorium as much as we do! Thank you very much for the outstanding review! We appreciate you for being our voice and please keep spreading the word. We are in the middle of our first face-lift; which is replacing the accordion seats with new ones. There are more improvements to come and we look forward to you returning to us time and time again.

Convenient and Large
Feb 2016 • Friends
This is a cavernous building conveniently located off Federal Highway north of Broward in Fort Lauderdale. Ample parking is available, usually at a charge-I guess they ened the revenue. There have been many shows here, usually well attended and laid out.
