This is a small and nice museum. The thing I liked best were the archeological dig finds. Cool Pullman car and nice grounds. And, just across the street you can catch the free Trolly bus and get a tour of the Historic district.

I was pleasantly surprised by the museum and all it offered. Bought a Groupon and took my 4th grader and 6th grader during holiday break. The kids were very interested and engaged. We decided on the "audio" tour which was the BEST option for them...More

This is a little gem of an old time Florida Museum. No, its not a modern museum, by any means. It is quaint and has a charm of its own. The building itself is an historic structure (old train depot) and if you want a...More

We were pleasantly surprised that such a small building contained so much information. We liked the audio tour which allowed us to enjoy the history of Fort Myers at our own pace. Young children would like the prehistoric area but might be bored with the...More

Fascinating and well organized, clean well lit museum of Fort Myers and area history. The cracker house outside is a reproduction. The Esperanza is one of the longest and last private Pullman rail cars. It was like stepping back into time. The individual free papers...More

A complete and comprehensive visual walk through the history of southwest Florida and Fort Meyers. Nicely displayed including hand held audio wands that bring the history to life. It's a great value that should not be missed. Enjoy.

Looks small on the outside but it is packed with lots of interesting artifacts! So much i didn't realize about Florida and the SW area in particular. The private train car outside that can be toured was also amazing.

These 2 museums are no where near each other. It's probably a 25 minute drive from one to the other in Lakes Park.
