Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There’s something for everyone. Many local artists selling hand made jewelry, paintings, sculptures. The variety is amazing and wonderful to see all the different styles. Staff is very warm and knowledgeable. Awesome find while my husband was at the cigar bar.

Form the outside the Franklin does not impress. It’s when you walk in prepare to get your mind blown by the great selection of classy one of a kind pieces from really great local artist. If you miss this place then you’ll just have to go back for the experience.

In my busy schedule I can find items for all my family and friends for birthday and holiday gifts, also it is in a great location downtown where you can go explore the downtown area, I've lived here for 25 years and downtown Fort Myers is amazing now, it has Art Walk first Friday, second Friday of the month it has Mystery Walk and the third Friday its Music Walk. My shopping experience at The Franklin Shop is great with all individual shop owners all of them are so creative with their taste in style.

We were not too impressed. We walked through in about 10 minutes. Lose the dog.
We didn't find any store that peaked our interest.

Nice place to see many vendors. Great use of an old historic building. This is a place that will take you an hour to get through it, so leave your husband at the bar and do a little shopping.

Every downtown trip starts with a visit to the Franklin Shops. Great gifts, such as books, art and a variety of clothing and accessories. Great prices and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We also love the cafe!

The Franklin Shops is located in a historic building that was built in 1937 for the Franklin Hardware Store. It is one of the few art deco buildings on First Street in the historic district. The front façade of the building is vitrolite, Carrara Glass which makes for the elegant store front. The hardware store stayed until the 1960's and then it became the St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store.
Today the Franklin Shops is a two story shopping emporium offering a mix of jewelry, clothing,, art, furnishings, accessories, beauty, and gifts. There is so much to look at here and I wanted a lot of it. It is great for the shoppers because they can find a wide range of items in one place but it also benefits the retailers who can lease a space in here for less money than opening their own store.
I had a wonderful time shopping here and stayed for much longer than I planned on. I actually came back later on in the evening to buy even more gifts. I was able to find two beautiful necklaces for a friend and an aunt's upcoming birthday and then I purchased an initial necklace as an early birthday present for myself. I can't stop thinking of the pearl rings that looked they were in a mermaids treasure box. The salesgirls were helpful but not hovering. When you select your items you take them to a central register to purchase. They packaged everything so nicely for me, wrapping the soap in tissue paper and putting the jewelry in gossamer green string bags so I don't even have to wrap them. Love, love, love this store.

After lunch at Izzy’s, we strolled down first. It’s mostly restaurants and bars with a few shops but then we hit the franklin shops and had so much fun! You can get lost for a while in here. Funky clothes and jewelry and most was reasonably priced. Don’t miss upstairs where they have more “stuff” and art work!
