Go when the tide is low!

This is a great place to take your dog, but not much room to maneuver when the tide is up. The water is really nice there and the dogs and the owners have a great time.

On advice from a friend, we visited Dog Beach late in the afternoon to watch the sunset. It was beautiful!

We never actually made it to the dog beach. It was high tide and we would have had to walk through a quarter mile of standing water to get to the beach. Someone coming out said that there was little sand for the dogs to play on. Would probably be great for water dogs such as a lab that like... More

Stopped to look at this beach on a afternoon drive. Free parking & a short walk to the beach which didn't have much sand more a silty mud. Unfortunately between the car park & the beach was a large pool which you had to paddle through & some of the dogs we're peeing in it...not nice. All the people had... More

Things are going to the dogs when the only place Fido can freely frolick is a small stretch of mostly mud at the bottom end of Lover's Key. If you want a really stinky, wet and muddy dog to get in your car this is the place to do it.

Lots of friendly dogs and a few not too friendly. The sand bar creates a real fun place for the dogs to romp, swim, and run with other dogs.

We visit Doggy Beach every year. I love animals and the dogs have so much fun out there and it is truly entertaining for the people visiting.

I should be embarrassed to say that we drove almost three days each way to take our golden to a beach. I picked Fort Myers Beach primarily because of the off-leash beach. I really wanted to see my dog in the surf. Even in Kansas we have lakes with great dog-friendly beaches, so just getting wet wasn't the point. This... More

Nothing like watching dogs playing together and enjoying themselves off leash! I brought a long rope and just dragged it behind my little fur baby, eventually let him off and he stayed right with me, got to play with other dogs and play in the water! Nice and clean, lots of people without dogs too!!
