I love the Saturday morning scheduled events- my son got to pick vegetables, feed the animals, pump water from the well, make wooden toys, and make homemade biscuits. It's small, quaint, educational and cute. Be sure to check the schedule for activities.

I recently visited Morningside and was expecting more hands on experience such as churning butter, trying the weaving machine, attending a class in the one room school house etc to immerse oneself in the history. I felt it was quickly rushed through just when one...More

This spot is way East on University, but is worth the drive. A wonderful stand of trees, many wildflowers, and an interesting nature center.

We were spoken to by one of the caretakers. He was very informative and friendly. He showed and then had my son feed the cow. All the farm animals seem well taken care of. Nice and shady too. 😊

We loved this farm with all the activities. Kids learnt so much from the activities such as washing clothes by using old 'equipment', feeding animals, making food for animals, looking at the old-style garden and people cooking and even sharing foods like biscuits with butter....More

A beautiful hand-built homestead in an maculate condition. The farm and homestead allow you glimpse of a seemly idiic and simple way of life that was once was. Take your kids to pet the cow, or feed the chickens and connect back to the olde...More

We came with my son's school group and got to learn so much about the native people's who lived in this area before us. The staff was so friendly and answered all the questions that the children had and even the grownups.

Great thing about this place is that you can see small farm animals and animals that you can find on farms just outside of town. The exhibits on Saturday morning bring you back to the period when Gainesville started. As others have recommended, do check...More
