The Hawthorne trail is a go-to trail for cyclists and walkers and I personally enjoy going the 17 miles to Hawthorne and back and then have lunch. It's a great Saturday activity to see a little bit of Florida and get some exercise.

This is a great trail and offers a few fun elevation changes. We started at Depot Park and rode the trail with friends. Everyone enjoyed this trail.

The trail is well maintained and shaded in some areas. We liked how there are hiking trails maintained by Alachua County Parks and the State Park Service along the bike trail that we could get off the bikes for a bit and walk. Access and...More

We rode here with our college age daughter. It is very well maintained. The parking is a little limited. We rode our tandem with plenty of room to pass and relax.

Our favorite trail so far! Very well maintain and many conecting trails to different routs, well signed too! You can choose how long of a ride you want to do! Beautiful and the weather was gorgeous on a Monday! Not too many people around!

If you are on this trail or coming from Payne's Prairie stopping at the Boulware Springs Park is a good choice. There is a nice bathroom you can use and there is interesting history. This artesian spring here was tapped in 1898 for the city....More

I love to use the Hawthorne Trail for long bike rides and rollerblading. The main reason for this is for safety from cars- the trail provides a 16 mile one-way path or 32 miles round-trip- start and end wherever you'd like. I love to park...More

This is a good walking track and picnic areas along the way. At soccer days there are many tailgating activities, which adds to the local culture of soccer. It is always humid and if it is hot, it gets too much...bring tons to fluids along...More
