Spend 5 days here at their campground. Plenty of bike trails, hiking trails, water sports (river), picnic facilities, education center. Includes a tower on the highest point in south Florida (Hobe Mountain). We have a return trip scheduled next year.

We started by climbing Hobe Mountain, highest point in this part of Florida--all of 86 feet--takes 10 minutes if you walk slowly up the wooden stairs. Others were trail biking through the park. The boat ride provided a tour of wildlife with plenty of turtles...More

Lots of choices at both the park and the surrounding area. Most of the campsites have a dearth of shade. A few at the river site have some shade. An awning or canopy is needed to sit outside in the sun. Activities galore! Hiking, canoeing,...More

We recently visited here specifically to take a boat ride and to see some birds. We started with the 9am boat ride which turns out did not stop at Trapper because of low tide. Be sure to call ahead to check on this as I...More

Our kayak renting experience was good. You can rent kayaks or canoe, call ahead and reserve just in case they are busy. You must have your identification with you. The difficulties were with getting on and off the kayak. You don't get in a push...More

The bike paths are both paved and hard packed sand/shell/soil. Street bikes are just fine throughout the park.
