If you have an extra half hour of time in Key West, a visit to the fort is worth it. If you haven't already been to one of the old southern forts along the southeastern coast, you may find this fort especially interesting. It is within walking distance of Duval Street, if you don't mind a good walk. It cost... More

The nicest cleanest Beach in Key West. Clean rest rooms, clean showers, clean beach, clean bbq areas, clean picnic areas, clean snack shop where you can get Hamburgers etc.

Smaller than I thought it would be. Lots of green iguanas everywhere. The beach was lovely & even though it was packed you didn't feel like you didn't have enough space.

The fort was interesting. The view from the top is really good. If you walk it is a distance from the main part of town and can be a chore in the heat.

Walked down to the park. Has at 2.50 entrance fee but worth it for the walks the beaches and views and also the trip round the fort.

I have visited several sites of this type and found this one the least interesting. We walked to the Fort and found it a bit out of the way so perhaps my review is colored by the effort it took to get there and what I saw at the Fort which was mostly a few cannons. The view is quite... More

Fort Zachary Taylor was a lot of fun to visit. The historians have done a great job to showcase the Fort in its early days as well as show the events of the past and how the Fort and terrain have changed. If you like historical/military sites then this a really cool way to spend a few hours. The site... More

Great place to visit. Beautiful beach, but not the sandy kind. Very sharp shells so bring water shoes! Pack a lunch and picnic in the shade, or better yet bring your own hammock and hang out in the palms. Don't try walking there from the Duval Street area. From the gate it goes back aways and if its hot it... More

I went to Ft. Zachary Taylor during my visit to Key West and loved it! It has one of the only public beaches in Key West. I paid a $2.50 entrance fee and it was totally worth it! The beach has a little cafe where you can order food and drinks, as well as a bathroom, showers and a gift... More

Here is an inexpensive and educational experience for kids and adults. Make sure you take the tour. There is a pamphlet for a self guided tour, but the guide really walks you through a lot of the details and history that you don't get from the written guide.
