Really interesting walk

If you are looking for something to do away from the bustle of Duvall St. The cemetery is a really interesting piece of Key West history. Worth the trek.

Cool place with a lot of vaults and a memorial to the Maine, the ship that mysteriously blew up in Havana harbor to get the US into the Spanish American War. Located at a "dead end" road.

Old cemeteries are fascinating to begin with and this one does not disappoint. I did not take a tour specifically on the cemetery, but decided to visit and just walk around the cemetery on a free morning I had. Important tip...get a map at the front office! Thanks to Trip Advisor, I had found out about some interesting graves and... More

Very interesting history surrounding this area of Key West. All above ground due to the hard coral bedrock underneath. Some of the headstones contain very humorous statements.

Looking at the old above ground sites, one can appreciate the short lives others have had. Many founding family names, pleasant walking or biking couple of hours.

The Key West cemetery is very cool. Be sure to look for the sailors from the 'Maine' battleship, there is a section dedicated to them. You may see an iguana or two, so don't be scared.

Some of the epitaphs were quite eloquent and others were hysterical like: I always wanted a small place in Key West. Many of... More

I enjoyed the enthusiasm of the many volunteers and families surrounding this tour. Much to see and learn about on this island.

Pretty cool place to take a walk. Lots of history here. Quiet lol, interesting to see all the souls and the dates of their departure on earth.

This is pretty interesting! I'm a paranormal investigator so I always like checking out cool & possibly haunted places when I travel. I will say that during the daytime this place is just beautiful. Going at night would depend on you!
