A very unusual cemetery - several graves have humorous epitaphs (e.g., "I told you I was sick").

Lots of history here. This historic site was very peaceful. The only cemetery I've ever found to be peaceful, beautiful and gave me fits of laughter ... due to some of the funny notations on the head stones. A self guided tour is fun. Another must do...More

It seems a little morbid to say but it really was a fun and fascinating visit. Reading the headstones is entertaining. It's so different from what I'm used to seeing in a cemetery. It's an interesting look at life and death in a completely different...More

Didn't find any of the silly headstones, but learned about some people native to the area. Saw some very large iguanas!

As odd as it may seem to call a cemetery a "neat place", this really is. Quite large with very old and unique gravestones and markers.

Went for a walk thru the cemetery. The cemetery is a mix of old and forgotten to newer and very well cared for family plots. It is very quite , except when the iguanas scurry thru the leaves and undergrowth . Take your time and...More

The cemetery is truly a gem and a must do when in Key West. You are entering a beautiful cemetery that has rich history that emits feelings of what an older cemetery should look like in terms of what seems like randomly placed plots and...More
